Hi All,
Its my turn to do the DOTW for this week. But usually DOTW dont get much of a response. So I got the permission of the Dev team to have something like Discussion of the Day instead of having a DOTW. So here is my topic for today's discussion.
We all know siblings are an important part of our lives. For most of us our siblings are our best friends. For some they are our worst enemies. But love them or hate them we cannot ignore them.
In the context of LTL we have seen Dutta's and Naku's siblings have had a profound influence on their life choices. For Nakusha her elder sister's choices dictated how Naku chose to spend her formative teenage years. For Dutta he chose to remain in his 'dhanda' not only to protect his own life but also to provide for a luxurious life for his sisters.
But have we really wondered what these two characters think about their siblings? While the show has explored the relationship of Naku and Dutta with their mothers it has never answered what they think of their siblings except the very basic details. But most importantly the show has always kept Dutta's relationship with Kala very open-ended IMO. We saw him feel upset when she burnt her hand to pray for him. We saw him shed tears when she took a bullet during Naku's target practice scene to stop his madness. We saw him get her back home after revelation about his parentage. We saw him keep quiet every time she sent a veiled insult towards Naku or Supriya out of respect for her. We saw him quietly listen to her advice on his business and personal life. Finally we saw him ask her to look after his Nakusha. Yet we saw him brush her off when she tried to stop his wedding out of rage with Nakusha. We saw him tell her not to interfere in his personal life after his first wedding. We saw him break ties with her when he caught her insulting Nakusha. So what does Kala Tai mean to Dutta?
My questions are:
What did Dutta think of Kala before he got to know that she had plotted to kill him? Dutta always seemed a bit stand-offish from his sisters esp Kala preferring his own company to theirs right from the start. Do you think somewhere deep down he realized their hostility towards them?
Do you think that catching Kala red handed bad mouthing Naku had already soured his relationship with her and hence the latest revelation wasnt as big a blow as it should have been?
Every time Dutta kept quiet while Kala insulted Nakusha or him(abt his father) do you think he did not understand her veiled insults or he chose to ignore them and keep quiet? If he chose to keep quiet why do you think he did so?
Do you think Dutta brought Kala back to PN out of guilt and hence wasnt surprised by her hatred for him in the latest revealation?
