Exactly! Its such a silly trend on TV started by PR. Every channel thinks let my show have a big fat wedding and it will become the no. 1 show. But I cant understand how otherwise middle class families in the show can afford such big weddings. Apart from PR it has not helped any other TV show. But they still insist on continuing. But atleast to Colors credit they dont usually have big fat weddings except Dutta's 1st wedding and Ichcha's 1st wedding which were stretched and dragged rather than have random TV, film stars coming over.
The more I think of it the more I love this Shivratri celebration in LTL. As u said Naku-Dutta have lots of elements of Shiv-Parvati. Some of Dutta's characteristics are like Lord Shiva...like his anger and his simplicity and how he doesnt live by the norms of society but is a free bird. Naku too had to undergo a sorta tapasya to get Dutta's love. Lord Shiva's first wife Sati died as she couldnt tolerate her father insulting her husband. Lord Shiva mourned her loss for many years. Dutta too burnt his inner innocent Dutta due to Seema's betrayal and mourned the loss of that innocent Dutta for years.

Oh ... It is great to know that you know the story😃...and yes...Sati burnt herself in her own father's pyre and it was after that, that the 'Rudra' swaroop came into play.... he burnt the whole yagna of Daksha (Sati's father)..just like Dutta had gone and burnt the whole town after that....and after Sati burnt herself she took a rebirth as Parvathi, and she had to do a years of tapasya to win his heart back...Nakku has indeed gone through a lot, to win Dutta's love...great similarities (only I don't like Seema being characterized as Sati) but that apart, we indeed have the Shiv-Parvati romance written all over the story...even Dutta's saying that 'Ardhangini' reminded me of the 'Ardhnareshwar' Swarup of Lord Shiva...
Oh that random stars dancing in the weddings takes away all the charm of the reality factor of the story... the Fact that we connect to the characters as D and N and not as MR and MV, and are branding the LS to a level of the pious relation between the deities is because of the maintenance of the sanctity of Tasha...that is why every hug is so important, every touch is branded in our memory and every dialogue has some relevance in the eternal LS😳

Nope Rose...you are bang on...Sati reincarnated as Himalaya's daughter Parvati...So technically, Shivji stays at his inlaws house (his house is in Kailasa, one of the peaks of Himalaya range😉)

@Rosa and Srushti: Oh thanks for clarifying, guys.....so Sati re-incarnated as Parvati.....I see.....this is a very interesting story with interesting parallels to DN no doubt.....but I also wouldn't like to characterize Seema as Sati.....lol.....so that's where the story differs.....but otherwise Dutta does have a lot of Shivji's traits as ppl have pointed out.

MV looks the best with minimal makeup....she looked gorgeous in the Friday epi also with literally no makeup on in those sets of epis.....but even kaajal is good....she looked pretty today as well.....but I prefer her best in her simplest avatars.....she's a naturally pretty girl....that's what they need to play up and stick with.

With heavy make-up, MV reminds me of the actress Saira Banu......anyone else feel that way?😆

Oh Anu...I thought only I was the one who thought that ...her mouth especially remind me of her...and Saira was also pretty with the minimal of make up😊
And Dutta is having Shiva Traits...his anger, his aloofness towards the world, his ability to blot out the outer appearances and see the person's heart, his goodness, and to some extent even his profession...Shiva is the God of death...I know it is a weird analogy....but I do find the similarity😃

Let's start with Baaji....yeahhhhh 😎 ....what a performance....the revenge in his eyes...the satisfaction in mocking kala and Suds...loved the eye to eye stares....not a single blink.... totally loved it.....very refreshing indeed
