Hi Shilpi
Really sory for not posting reply earlier.. hope you can forgive me rathe Rohan. He was a pest last night and refused to go to bed on time. He wanted one story after another read to him and then eventually I said I only have 2nd chances to read out now glaring at him.. and poor lil munchkins was looking at me with his big brown eyes..
Anyway, goes without saying, I loved it.. it was just 'right' if I may say now..not over dramatic, not fizzling out..just right..and I think getting it just right is the hardest part in any climax. You can go over board or keep it subtle, but yours was just perfect..Oh I loved the bit where she sees him in everything she is doing, everywhere she is going he is there.. well, all her life she was the shadow, suddenly, I find him to be the shadow here towards the end.. how apt na?!it was damn sweet though picturing the scene..very very romantic and shweet!
Wow, kya entry maara hero nai!! Awesome man.. and his first line to her was too good.. frog prince huh.. ek teer do nishaana..she wont run out of the room with that frog there at the door, plus he could make her listen to him..wah wah.. finally he has put his IQ to use hahahaha.. that line was so right as it was not too mushy or cloyingly sweet or too emotional. And wow, as soon as she saw the sock hanging there, she knew he had come and he was ready!! That really summed up the past one year.. for one year she waited for him to get over his demons and be ready to marry her..there was never a doubt that he would not come, but just waiting for him to accept her..
Felt bad for Bhuppi for a minute, but then if the girl decided to move on, there was never any love there.. was there? At least from her side..Bhuppi showed him a mirror and asked Dutta to look at it and see how Naksh was ready to wait for him forever..not that he did not know her worth, but lil pointers sometimes help to bring things inti perspective. He never needed Bhuppi to show him how much Naksh loves him.. but helped him realise how much of an ass he is in wasting precious time..
Can I just say something as repetitive as this.. that I LOVED the way she counted out his mistakes and he accepted them head down agreeing to all she said..it was beautiful.. sorry, I know you don't like SRK, but I cant imagine anyone other than him in that shot.. SRK from a decade ago..or maybe a Shahid today as you need that honest face in love..but he knew she believed in them and it was now time for him to show her much he believed in them too..
Aaw, he had a long speech prepared though she is in no mood to listen! His apology was so straight from his heart esp the fact he never wanted anyone to love her more than him and him to be there to pick up the pieces..and how cute he mouthed thank you to that frog..aaaawww..looks like I have to come to India to give you a bear hug! And the way he picked up her left hand and then tried to force that ring on..bless him when he finally says to her that there can be no one else for Dutta than Naksh and vice versa..and OMG maya to the rescue.. do you know how heart warming it was to see the old Dutta..it was wo wonderful to see him run after Naksh and drag her to him and not wanting to let go.. sigh.. gosh I must have waited for this moment more than Naksh herself ;-P
So Ben finally looks like the dad in tha ad..and wow, Fanny's names is Francesca!! And loved Dutta thinks his FIl cannot manao his wife unlike him!! It was such a beautiful Xmas scene..a very happy family after a long time..and OMG, Dutta managed to get me in tears he asks Ben ki mein aajaon ghar hamesha ke liye..so much like old child na..BUT I so wish you had included a few lines on what Dutta was thinking or what his emotions were on seeing Naksh asleep holding that sock to her chest..i think you would have done an awesome job with that too.. we saw Naksh's reaction, and can only imagine/wonder how D reacted to seeing her..
But have to say the most touching part was the CD.. I wondered what was in there.. I did not think Naksh could have sent it, as she had no address to send it to him..but then you completely and utterly shook me with this..i never ever expected to see this on the CD..i don't even want to imagine what Shakuntala might have gone thru whilst recording it, but she was so brave. He always looked up to his dada and thought his mum would never match upto his dad, but this one act shows how strong his mum has always been, be it her blessings for Dutta and asking him to never think he was wrong, or narrating how she had 'enough' as long as she had her hubby and son with her.. a truly marvellous woman.and there too you manage to give Dutta a glimpse of the warm relationship that was shared by his mum and Naksh..his parents back story is equally touching and how his mum always thought she had 'enough' in her life to continue even after sriram left them.. a very positive lady, must say..adn seriously the way she asks him to promise to be happy, to have a family, to have that person who will fill the void in him and also extracting a promise from him to fulfil it as he has fulfilled his da's promise was seriously touching.. brought me to tears.. how can a mum ever say goodbye to her son na..i think his parents will finally be at peace now..after all these years, she can see that her son now has enough in his life to keep his happy and stable and content..he would have a marriage as happy as hers and a life as fulfilling as she had..and the way she says Nakush hain na tumehin sambhalne ke liye.. she knew all along that come what may, that lil girl will never leave him..and that lil girl who comforted him after his da's death will be there to hold his hand at every juncture in his life!
Finally, men..Grr.. see I never thought of duty free when J had got me that a year before he finally said it.. now that you put your spin on it, I don't have anything more to say other than laugh my heart out.. never thought of this side of the coin
Take a bow.. absolutely beautiful..and just right!
