The liner - "Tu unki tarah sunder nahi thai ..yehi toh teri achaaye thai", made me brood on the root cause of this ridiculous notion. Why was this notion born in first place? And to search for my answers, I took a walk back into the old LTL days...(Feeling great about re-connecting to this e-LS for the timebeing😛😛)My walk back into times made me realize that Dutta only believes what happened with him was that the previous betrayal made Dutta cling to Naku because she wasnt beautiful and then he realized that she had a heart of gold and lots of love for him...But this isnt the truth, atleast not the whole truth, and the day the truth dawns on him, the "notion on beauty" would be cleaned from his brains! Let me explain!IMO, Dutta was in love with Naku even when he was about to marry Sups, just that he termed that feeling as friendship because his brain never let him believe that he could love a gal like Naku....Then Sups betrayed him and eloped...but what shattered him most was that Naku betrayed him...His extreme reaction towards Naku was also an indication that his feelings were more than friendship....Dutta would have been aggressive even if a friend had betrayed him but the reaction he displayed towards Naku was much stronger.....Now, This love was blanketed by hatred! (Did i hear somewhere that Hatred is also a strong form of Love?❤️)...He kept on believing that he hates Naku and went on with his life because that is what his brains told him made sense!...Did he think about Sups during those days? Not much....Naku had taken over his thoughts....If he had loved Sups, would he not have thought mostly about her?Also,Was he contended with his punishments inflicted on Naku? Nope...because his heart was speaking a different language but he refused to ACK it....Then the temple incident happened and yet again his brains told him that he is to do justice and free Naku because after this "Aehsaan", he is not supposed to harbor any feelings for her - neither friendship nor hatred....Yet again he listened to his brains when he announced naku's freedom....but was he contended with his decision again? No....and he didnt know why he wasnt happy, becasue yet again, he kept his back towards his heart...and that confused him..He didnt know why he was feeling that something was going amiss in his life, if Naku leaves....He didnt know why he was spending a sleepless night of jiteriness (Kaminey song)...He didnt know why he wanted her to protest against his decision(Returning of MS and staring at her in the SUV).....He obviously wouldnt know the answers to this confusion because he was being blind to his feelings for her....He was blind because they didnt make sense to his brains....He didnt know because he was only listening to the logic residing in his brain i.e. "Naku has not been proven innocent but she saved my family"...exactly what he says when they were hanging on the cliff....On the cliff, yet again, He is moved by Naku and her conviction in love....she had passed the test of love but yet again his brains told him - "Naku is to get down from the car because she saved his family"....When they reach Jungle, he refused to listen to his heart again that this woman had just proved her love by not abandoning him in the face of death.....On the contrary,his brains made him blame her for the (jungle) situation they were in (words that were hollow to his ears too)....but in all these interactions the underlying love in his heart was very obvious, the awe that he carried for Naku was evident and zeal to cling to that one thing he has been looking for, was clear....But even then, he wasnt ready to peep in his heart, he was listening to his brains...."Naku betrayed me but she saved my family"...Hence, he remained moody - snub at her and yet take care of her.....but then he would also have his private moments with his heart (like when Naku was sleeping and he puts his jacket on her), he would look at her with awe...His personal connection and feelings were totally bared in front of us but after a moment, he would suddenly snap out of it, giving the reins back to his brains....That is when Jagtap showed him how he shld bring his heart on the forefront and send his brains in the background....because it was this heart, that knew who was his actual love, knew who were his true relations and would be able to make right decisions and give him the gift of life....Moved by the thought and Jagtap's gesture/sacrifice, Dutta starts moving into this direction...and for the first time, when he gets his heart in forefront, his heart tells him to "stop NAKU"..again, he didnt know why, he just knew he had to stop her....Naku gets kidnapped and Kala again teases his brain cells...Dutta, new to the whole "Heart in forefront and brain in background" concept, he oscillates between heart and brain in the shower scene....he remembers Sups,Seema and Naku....when he sees Anna's tape and hears Naku's challenge....BANG!! The heart was in the forefront and it was there to stay....but unfortunately old habits die hard....He held a history of finding logic in everything using his brains,and hence, he surmises that the diff between Sups, Seema and Naku was the beauty factor (and to some extent, illiteracy)...He still hasnt made the breakthorugh that his listening to heart was a recently acquired skill but the heart has been has been housing feelings for Naku for quiet some time....Hence, attributing his new found feelings to this ridiculous notion of beauty, he moves on in his LS with Naku....Thus, Taking support of this notion was important to convince his brains that why falling in love yet again was justified, even after being betrayed twice....Since his heart was moving fast and his brain had to be convinced, he hastily clinges to this notion and convinces his brain that "he was right in loving Naku, she isnt beautiful and hence his heart has fallen for her"...He went into - "hmmm....that is what must have happened with me" types argument....and once his heart took over, there was no looking back....that is when he found his genuine smile back...that is when he changed from a beast to a human!!!.....In this FR, he has to realize that his heart was always shouting his feelings for Naku even before he clinged to this "beauty notion"....His love was older than this notion and he didnt fall for Naku because she wasnt beautiful, he was always in love with her....since Sups and Seema were never his love, there is no point in keeping Naku and them in the same pedestal and comparing them based on this notion...Basically, he has to void this notion now....Hats off to CVs, the way they had interwoven the different threads and connected them to build a beautiful LS then!..The Gradual transformation in Dutta was an exquisite experience in itself, which every TV Viewer should experience! Slow yet cherishable!!!...I miss those days and with post-FR drama, I hope to get the same experience back!Love,DD
Awesme post DD! as far as i have analysed dutta's character i too came across this reality that dutta was in love with nakku even before he was getting married to sups.. and i had metioned this in one of my eariler posted a few days back..since as u said mind was dominant at that point of time he could not find a logic behind this and termed it to be friendship..( I believe that he wasnt in love neither with seema nor with sups.. seema tended to be a teenage infatuation and in case of sups he was forced by nakku to fall in for her.. in my opinion nakku is his first and last love..)
Then came the worst phase of their lives when he married nakku in the fit of rage.. as u said hate is the stronger form of love, u tend to hate only that person whom u love the most.. his hate at that point of time was quite evident of the fact that he was very much in love with her.. then in the process of self realization he admitted his feeling to himself and heart became dominant.since then there was no looking back for him..although heart being dominant still he had to give some satisfactory logic to his mind as to why he has fallen for nakku and the reason was quite obvious ie nakku not being beautiful is her biggest asset since she doesnt have that weapon of beauty to betray anyone..
Now is the time when he will be able to get over his prejudice and he will understand that nakku being more beautiful than the other two girls in dutta's life still loves him more than her life which she has already proved quite often and that too without any expectations.. I am sure there will be a time when dutta will come over his preconcieved notion of beauty and he will realize that its not at all about ones beauty its about the person..
This beautiful journey of their love is what i would cherish all my life..
