Lost Love Part 5
Nakku gets frustrated and yells " Koi plan nahi hai! Why do you think that I am plotting against you. I dont get happiness from seeing you like this! I don't have fun when people tease and insult me about me being ugly!"
Kala turns to Dutta and says " Dekho Bhau, first this ladki lies and betrays you, and now she is yelling at me!"
Dutta in his agitation smacks the lamp so it falls and the glass scatters everywhere. Nakku steps back, frightened and accidentally, and she screams.
Dutta looks at her as if he is really worried but then bangs his hand on the back of the sofa and stomps up to his room.
AS and Madhu have come from the mandir and see Nakku kneeling onto the ground, with her head buried into her knees, sobbing while Kala is standing there and glaring at her.
"What's all this?"
"AS, look at this girl, just look at her!"
Madhu goes towards Nakku and helps her stand up. She looks at her face and gasps.
"Who are you"
AS looks at Madhu, confused, "Its Nakku ofcourse!"
"No its not mama"
"What are you talking about"
Nakku who was standing there silently till now, turns around. AS stares at her and puts her hand to her mouth.
"AS, I am Nakku," she whispers and recites her entire story (I couldnt be bothered to type up all of that) to AS and Madhu.
"Oh Puh-lease dont start your drama. You are a liar and you deserve to be thrown out of this house" Kala yells
"No Kala tai, this isn't a drama. This is my life and I know I have lied but I haven't betrayed. I still love saab and I always will. Whether I am black or white won't change that"
"Kala chup ho ja! Go to your room" AS says
"But AS..."
"Go I said, and dont you dare go to Dutta's room. Leave him alone for a while and dont let Leela or Roops go to him either"
"But AS.."
"Just Go!!!"
"Madhu, you go to Dutta and see if he is okay, and Nakku you relax. When Dutta is calmer I will talk to him. I understand your situation I know what village life is like, I know what the people are like. I know what Babi did isn't probably the best thing to do but I guess it was useful"
"AS, thank you for trusting me" Nakku sobs. AS nods at her reassuringly and heads to her room. Nakku sweeps up the glass bits with her hands and they start bleeding. She doesn't stop and continues picking up the glass even though her hands are bleeding so much that the blood is dripping onto the floor. Dutta is looking at her from the balcony and remembers the time in the jungle when Nakku tied her dupatta around his hand, and when she had cleaned his wounds with alcohol. He wipes away a tear and goes inside his room and slams it shut. Nakku throws the glass peices in the bin and starts picking off the glass bits off her own hand. She is exhausted and the pain is killing her but she doesn't feel like sleeping. She walks outside and sees Babi. Babi eyes her wounds and is about to step forward but Nakku shakes her head no and runs away out of PN. Babi sighs and goes inside. ( Guys I know it is Nakku's flashback and I am putting everyones point of view but how am I supposed to tell you what Dutta feels like? SO pretend that Dutta is also sitting somewhere in a bar, its all dark, he has a bottle of alcohol and he is sipping it while playing with the mangalsutra he put on Nakku in the 1st marriage and he is remembering Nakku)
Babi knocks on Dutta's door
"Go away"
"Saab please listen to me"
"NO!"
"Just for 5 minutes"
Dutta \gets angry and opens the door. Babi folds her hands infront of him. Dutta goes and sits on his sofa and grabs his bottle.
"Saab I know my daughter lied but she did everything because I told her to"
"Why? Doesnt she have a brain of her own?"
"Saab you must know by now, Nakku does whatever I tell her. Even if I told her to jump into a well she would. I told her not to tell her truth to you until I let her. She asked me several times if she could tell her truth to you but I was scared. Saab, if you want to give punishment, give it to me not Nakku because it is not her fault. She put on the soot because I told her to and she took it off because of me. Please forgive her saab, please"
Babi looks at Dutta who doesnt respond and she goes out, giving a last glance at Dutta, who is still silent.
Dutta is lost in deep thought. He thinks about the times Nakku saved him and proved her love. "No my Nakku loves me, but this Nakku, this gori Nakku, I am not sure if she is mine or not" Dutta puts his hands on his face and cries.
