CHAPTER 31

It was morning time; Naku was standing near her Bappa idols downstairs praying. "Bappa thank you for keeping everyone safe and bringing all of us home." AS walked up to her smilingly and said "mein janti thi ke tum yaah Bappa ke paas hogi." Naku turned around with the Aarti plate, bent down to AS feet to take blessings. AS puts her hand on her head sweetly and says "Saada khush raho aur suhaagan." Naku raised herself up and offered the aarti to AS. "AS I will go and bless the house with the aarti." She told her and AS nodded her head in agreement with a smile. Naku made her rounds with Aarti plate around the house and then climbed the staircase towards her bedroom where her husband no doubtly was still sleeping.

She walked into the room and saw her husband still sleeping on his front. She shrugged her head and smiled at her adoring husband. She puts the aarti thali on the bedside table, takes one of her hands on top of the aarti and brushes the top side of Dutta's head. Dutta stirs in his sleeps, turns himself on his back and opens his eyes. He sees his wife sitting beside him looking beautiful as ever "Naku meh hamesha isi taara chaah tah hu keh jab haar subah meri aankhen khule mein tujhe dekhoon." Dutta took one her hands and kissed the inside of her palm. Naku looks at him affectionately and says "Saab I will always be in front of your eyes as long as I shall live." He smiles, cups her face and kisses her lightly on the lips. Naku gets up from the bed and walks towards the bathroom to get the first aid box. "Saab, why don't you take a shower and then I will change your bandage." She told him and took his towel and change of clothes out. Dutta nodded his head and got out of bed to take shower.

Arohi was sleeping peacefully all cuddled up to Arjun. Arjun smiled and kissed the top her head "Good morning sweetheart." He said with a smile. Arohi stirred up, smiled with her eyes closed. "Good morning to you too my honey." She replied back and kissed his chin. Arjun caressed her hair asked "Arohi the lady that helped you, I mean Anna's wife how was she?" Arohi smiled upon hearing this and had flashbacks of the events on how she brought food, helped them and went against her husband. "She is the most amazing, good-hearted woman I have met. She was sweet, kind and helpful. I am worried if Anna finds her; what he will do to her." She got a sad look on her face as she told Arjun. "Nothing will happen to her sweety, god is good to those who help others." He told his wife and tightened his hold on her. Arohi shut her eyes and nodded her head. "Since when did you start quoting Naku? She always says Bappa hai toh kuch nahi hoga." She looked at him as she raised her head to look at him. Arjun grinned and said "What can I say? She is turning me into a believer." Arohi smiled heartily and raised herself to sitting position. She ran her hand through her long locks and sighed. "You have a doctor's appointment today Arohi for a check-up to see If everything is ok with your and the baby." He told her as she got out of the bed. Arohi bobbed her head and headed towards the bathroom to freshen up.

Downstairs in the kitchen Sands was trying to make breakfast for her sister and brother-in-law. TS walked in and saw the mess "Sands what exactly you are trying to do?" He questioned her with one of his eyebrow's raised. Sands grinned at her father and replied "Making breakfast for all of you." TS looked at her youngest daughter with big eyes and said "Sands dear you hate cooking." Sands smiled at her father, while she broke the eggs in a bowl and whipped them "Dad I never said I hate cooking, I just choose not to cook." She told her father as she poured the whipped eggs into the frying pan. "Besides I want to do something nice for Arohi di and Arjun bro. They have been so nice and kind to let me stay with them." Aruji walked into the kitchen and smelled the aroma of the food. They were least to say surprised to see Sands at the kitchen counter, wearing an apron with a spatula in her hand. They all greeted each other and sat down for breakfast. After the breakfast was over Aruji made their way to the hospital for the check-up.

Dutta emerges out of the bathroom wearing his black pants and wife beater (vest). He comes into room while wiping his hair with the towel. He sees Naku standing by the window ceil looking towards the garden. He comes behind her, brings his arms around her waist and hugs her tight to him. He rests his chin on her shoulder and kisses the exposed skin. He flatens both of his palms her stomach and carresses it. "Saab you are done with shower? Come I will change your bandage on your wound." She told him as she put both of her hands on his that were resting on her stomach. Dutta nods his head and let's go of her; she turns around and walks towards the coffee table where she had kept the first-aid box. Dutta sits on the couch, Naku takes out the antiseptic bottle, dabs some on the cotton ball and begins to clean his wound. Dutta upon contact of the antiseptic on his wound hisses with effects of sting. Naku slowly blows on it to soothe the stinging effect. Dutta closes his eyes and grips her hand that was holding his shoulder tight. Naku puts the ointment and then bandages it up properly. She then says "Saab ho gaya." Dutta opens his eyes and rests his head on the couch. Naku come near him and sits beside him and runs her hand through his hair and asks "How are you feeling now?" Dutta smiles at his gorgeous wife and answers "It is ok now, less pain."

Aruji arrive at the hospital and were waiting for the gynecologist to arrive. Arjun was looking around the room with pictures of baby and then on one side of the table he spots a female anatomy of the baby on how it is inside. He was horrified and grossed out from the picture; Arohi looks at him and gives him an irritated look. The door opens and the doctor steps in, she greets them both and takes Arohi on the other side of the room to get her checked out. Arjun sat down on the chair with shaking one of his legs in worry. 15 minutes later both doctor and Arohi come out. Arohi sits besides Arjun, while the doctor writes the results in the medical file. "There is nothing to worry about guys, everything is normal and the pregnancy is progressing really well." She told both Aruji with a smile and put her elbows on the table. "You are are 16 weeks into your pregnancy and it is progressing well, however I now want you to include some light walking, exercise and moderate swimming and avoid stress as much as possible." She told them with a straight face. Aruji nodded their heads in agreement.

Sands and TS came to Patil Niwas as Aruji had told them, after their appointment they will go there. Baaji walked into the living room with the phone attatched to his ear yelling at somebody on the other end. "Dekh mein nahi jaanta tu kaise karega, lekin mujhe uss kuthe Anna ka pata chahiye." He told the other guy on the other end, while he looked up and saw the father and daughter sitting. Sands stared at him with a face that Baaji could not figure out. He hung the phone up and walked towards them "Areh tum log? Kaise ho? Sabh theek toh hai na?" Sands replied back "We are good. Arohi di told us come here as they are own their way." Baaji nodded his head and stared at her a bit longer than needed. Sands unable to take his eyes of him stared him right back, but dropped her eyes as Dutta and Naku walked in. However, this staring contest did not go un-noticed by TS he had a distinct feeling that something was up with these two. He made a note of it to let his older one know of it. Aruji walked in and greeted all of them. They told them the news that the pregnancy was progressing well and there is no need to worry. Everyone was happy to hear that. Naku hugged her friend and put her hand on her baby bump to feel the baby. Dutta noticed this little gestured done by his wife and imagined what it would be like if Naku was pregnant and a small smile appeared on his mouth.

3 months Later...

Time flew by without anyone ever having any time to breath. Dutta and Naku's romance was still going strong with here and there little fights. Arohi was now 7 months pregnant with her big belly showing and to Arjun she had never looked so beautiful. She was glowing, but to Arohi she complained that she looked like an Elephant and none of her good clothes fit her. She always cried and threw little tantrums all due to pregnancy hormones. Arjun was beside himself, and was very patient with her, but secretly deep down inside his heart was greatful that only 2 more months till she delivers. At the Patil Niwas everyone was gathered for dinner, while Baaji and Sands were having an argument on whether or not Arohi was going to have a boy or girl. The argument got really heated, that at one point Naku had to intervene. "Why are you two arguing about the s** of the baby? I mean if the parents are not, then why are u two." She told them with both of her hands on the waist. "Well I want Di to have a baby girl and I know she is." Sands told her with a pout. She turned towards Arohi and pleaded with her to side with her. "Sands Arjun and I don't really know if we are having a boy or girl, but we both agree that we want a healthy baby with 10 fingers and toes." Arohi told her baby sister with a smile.

Baaji shook his head and walked out to the lawn, with Sands following him with an angry look. Aruji looked at the receding backside of both of them and giggled. Dutta looked at them and asked "What is so funny?" Arohi took a breath and answered "What you are telling me that you have not noticed their little outbursts for no reason." Dutta still no sure what Arohi was talking about shakes head in a no. Naku started to giggle at her husband. "Saab you are the smartest man I know, yet in the matters of relationship and love you are clueless." Naku told him with a grin on her face. Dutta gave an angry stare at his wife and then finally got a light bulb lit in his head and gestured his mouth in an O. "You are telling me that Baaji and Sands are in love?" He gives a questionable look at the trio. All three of them in unison reply "Yes." He shuts his eyes and runs both of his hands over his face and says "How is it possible? I mean Sands despises him and he is not too fond of her either." Arjun with a smirk answers "Yaar love hota hi aisa. You don't even realize that you are in love. I mean it is true what they say Love is blind." Dutta shakes his face in disbelief, crosses his arms behind his back and walks out. Naku, Arohi and Arjun let a laugh at the sight of Dutta's face.

Meanwhile, in the lawn Baaji was sitting on the bench with a grumpy face while Sands sat beside him. "Baaji why are mad at me?" She innocently asked. Baaji turns his face to look at her and replies "I am not mad. I love our little banter fights it keeps the four in there clueless of how we feel about each other." Sands smiles at him and hugs him tight. He hugs her back and runs his fingers through her long tresses. He buries his face in the crook of her neck and smells the sweet fragrance of her perfume which intoxicates him. "Baaji if you think that they have no clue about us than you are sorely wrong." She told him with a grin. "I mean Di, Arjun and Naku definitely know about us, however Dutta bhau not so much." She told him as she broke the hug. He looks at her with a raised brow and says "Are you serious? They know about us." Sands nodded her head in an agreement. Baaji closes his eyes and took a big sigh "Well I guess sooner or later we have to tell them, but I know what you mean about Bhau." He laughed at the flashback memory he had "He did not even know that he was in love with Naku, till at a later time. Mera Bhau aisa hi hai, clueless in the matters of love." Sands laughed at Baaji's sketch of Dutta. Dutta who was standing in the balcony near his bedroom heard all of the conversation between the two and had a small smirk on his face. 'So you think I am clueless in the matters of love. Now you wait and watch what I do to you and your love life.' He turned around and walked back into his room and called for his wife.
