Mussy, you are spoiling me with your compliments. โ˜บ๏ธ
I like that about Dutta foremost too--his honesty, his lack of hypocrisy. I RESPECT this like crazy in all aspects of my life. He is forthright, there is no ego. And unfortunately, THESE are the very reasons I dislike Naku nowadays because she is NOT what Dutta IS. Because if Dutta was in a situation like Naku's, do you see him hiding the truth, fearing things??? I don't. He is too honest to do that.

It's a very weird thing--yes, there is good and bad in all of us. We are mean and nice. We have bad thoughts and good. We humiliate and we praise. Yet, Dutta's many "goodnesses" have a very weighty Bad Side....KILLING, STEALING, etc. It's so hard to ignore that. But I, like you and most others on this forum, adore Dutta for the person he is in all other respects. I'm so confused.๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜†

But what everyone would have a problem with is what she did to Dutta. Even if she was scared of him she never tried any way to get the message across to him that she felt she was being forced to marry him. She got lots of chances to tell Dutta directly or thru someone...Baji, AS, her parents etc. Instead she humiliated him Is that not what Nakusha is doing albeit with different motivations? on what was supposed to be the happiest day of his life. Yes he married Naku his soulmate that day but he regrets that day in his life big time. Both she and the BG were extremely selfish in their own needs that they didnt care what impact their actions would have in the lives of others including Nakusha whom they framed for the elopmenent. Agree, this showed just how low-life they really were. It would have been one thing if they just left, but they framed an innocent person, thus showing how dishonest they were.Coming to whether Naku doesnt care for Dutta's profession...she does care...she is uncomfortable with his work but she realizes that he has already walked the path of no return. As his life partner she will walk the path he leads her to. Shreya, this will sound really harsh of me but Naku has no direction in life, no future...she will walk wherever he would. But if Naku were so "noble" and "righteous", why isn't she trying to CHANGE him, to walk away from this? She tried changing him to Bappa-embracing guy, why not leave Dondom like Ganpat? I'm not saying it's possible of course....And why did she love such a guy? Despite his profession he was a man unlike any she had met before. Being a slumdog covered up in soot she had seen the worst in life so she instantly recognized the goodness in this guy who was bad to the world. Also the Cvs have made it clear from the beginning that Naku found Dutta good looking and was attracted to him. Now does attraction really care for good guy or bad guys? Agree totally with you. Attraction happens. But I will say, even if Dutta was just a regular nice guy, Naku would have fallen for him...because he was nice and noone has been like that to her.

What does our liking for Dutta tell abt us? It tells us that we all like stories were a woman tames the guy so to speak. I can only speak for myself, but under most circumstances, I like to see this in relationships, going both ways, guy changing girl, girl changing guy...but this Dutta-Naku thing just is hard for me to stomach. I just don't want Dutta to be "tamed". I have no idea why...it makes no sense. And yes for me personally abt me it tells I have a thing for bad boys...with nice lips and sexy earrings. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Arre, so do all of us. That is our collective unconsciousness.๐Ÿ˜† They've got to bring those earrings back! Thanks Shreya for your thoughts on this. There is an attraction undoubtedly to bad boys, with potential for good. It's in women's blood. I know it too well.๐Ÿ˜†

Parul, First of all, how many hrs in a day do you spend on LTL? ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜‰....Where do you get such topics from? ๐Ÿ˜†....Did you actually analyze urself to see what u were to love a character like Dutta? ๐Ÿ˜‰....Okie...Jumping to the topic, now that you made me think too....

On one of your liners...I don't think Naku fell for Dutta the minute he saved her from More...She was awed by that gesture but I dnt think she was in love. Earlier, she had been publicly humilated, she had shouted and cried for help but noone had the guts to stand for her but here came a man, who didnt even wink before helping her. Her one request, her one gesture of hiding behind him, and Naku immediately came under his protective umbrella! He saved her and did not leave her there but took the whole family in the very same umbrella Because of AS. and decided to ensure they are off limits of the unsecured area! That's when the first "Hatke" factor cropped in about him!
Then minute gestures like even noticing her over the rearview mirror, giving away to Sethji's hunger demand and help her with cleaning her hands made her admire him....After all, these gestures, directed at her, were alien to Naku....He took the whole family in his PN and gave them jobs!
Then he came and personally admired her for her guts and bravery and made that compliment very personal. That touched her. Noone had ever complimented her! While the kids and the elders in PN either did a Peekaboo act with her or taunted her about her looks, He was the only one who remained indifferent to her looks...Her admiration only increased for this man and brought in the curious factor....What made Dutta "Hatke"? The curosity took better of this cat and her feet would automatically take her to his room, to peek in his lifestyle and the real traits that made Dutta, what he was! Their convos started gradually and with every conversation, she didnt realize when this admiration changed to love for this man, bcoz this was the first time, a "saab" was not only having meaningful convos with her, but giving enough importance to an "always-ignored-gal" and moreover getting interested in the convos and looking forward to them!...She was been made to feel spl for the first time, Inspite of the color of her skin, she first time felt like a woman!!! A man who can bring alive the woman inside her, becomes the Mr.Right for her! This was what I feel was Naku's journey to her heart!....
Once in love, nothing else mattered! They say, Love is blind, this Love was, atleast when it came to eyeing Dutta's profession or the casulaties of it...Love has no room for ifs and buts....Moreover, the background that Naku hailed from, (don't forget the ingredients that Ganpat constitutes of), a "DON" life isnt something that sends shocking waves...Crime was an everyday show for her even if in small scale....Hence, For Naku, she saw the Honesty, Integrity and clean heartedness, not the profession....She has no issues in Ganpat being part of the underworld, but she has issues if he swindles his boss! The nature of work didnt matter as long as that was also done with honesty!...Thats the mindset of an uneducated, tabooed gal from the low class society...First time, she was being cared for, Love was inevitable! Love never sees logic, this was no exception....And the dirtbags that she has seen in and around her, Dutta was anythign but a dirt bag....
Take for eg - More...He had a reputable career in the eyes of the society, but what exactly was he? 1st order dirtbag...The exp that she went thru' her parameters had to be - Not the choice of career but the person that the man was...People in and around her were atrocious to her family and her, not because of their choice of career but for the values (or no-values) that they potrayed, and hence, what became imp for her was a clean heart rather than a career....This profession was one she saw in front of her eyes, germinating day in day out in some nook-corner of her basti!....She was immune to this profession!!! This thought doesnt even come in her mind....For her, she is part of his life and the internals of PN and Dutta and that is what matters to her!!!...I dnt think she even stops to think about it....Robin Hood is always admired for his intentions and gestures, noone stops to think the "means" he adopts to "help" people...Those people just love him blindly....
Coming to Sups, If I was in her place, I wouldnt have fallen for Dutta - Agreed! Here is why -
1. Sups was already in love and hence, everyone else seemed undesirable to her from that perspective!...
2. She was angry at everyone for not attaining her love and the guy chosen for her, She had to find some disgusting aspect about him to justify her anger....Well, Since she knows Dutta superficially, On the surface, his "profession' itself gave her 1001 reasons to hate him...
3. I suspect, she had not seen the world of crime as closely as Naku had....For such a person, crime is a very BIG thing...You and I can put ourselves in her shoes and thank our stars for being away from this world!...It's not just crime, DD. Dons KILL people, including innocents.
So, she wasnt wrong in not falling for Dutta or for that matter being disgusted too.....and we loved to hate her because we were already in love with Dutta....but then she gave us one more reason to hate her....Since she had her valid reasons for not wanting to marry him, stick to them and the principles...If I was in her place, I wouldnt have been in cahoots with the "Wrong guys" and commit wrong...Don't cheat! ....If you too adopt to cheating, then what is the diff between Dutta's profession and you? She too did wrong, cheated Dutta, framed Naku, That is what made Sups disgusting to me made lot of innocent ppl die....How was she diff? Well, I will say she was coward and so was her Mwali, not to stand for what they believe!! They took the easiest route they thought would set them free!!!...Now let's think of Naku in this situation. With her dishonesty, is she not taking the easiest way out? A situation in their life made them take the wrong route, well, so, did Dutta....She wasnt diff from him then....excpet he had to stick with the route, but she is leading a normal life right now....I still think there is a BIG BIG difference between Dutta's career and Sups' deceit and crime here.
BTW, when a certain real life DON was captured along with his wife and extradited to India, teher was a wave of gals who became fascinated and interested in the "handsome" DON...They fantasized about him, his story was overly romanticized, thats when a leading Newspaper ran a column on "Why girls have inclination towards Macho, yet bad guys".....What makes a DON appealing for a normal girl....It went to show that how this "career", enveloped in the Macho trait was more appealing to a girl....Will search for tht article and send u, if I find it...It was an interesting read! Awesome, DD! I want to read it. As Shreya rightly said, there is an attraction to bad boys, powerful bad boys, powerful bad boys that are just a tad out of our reach.๐Ÿ˜†

My dear friend DD,

The sad truth is that I've spent less and less time on this show. Hopefully, that will change soon as I get excited about all these wonderful new tracks. However, when I have been on the forum and reading the various topics, I can't help but to think. Some sentence, some word...will just set my mind to thinking. It's a terrible, terrible habit of mine.๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜† You have such a way at looking at these characters -- it's always awesome to read!
