Agreed. They are no doubt subject to immense pressure from up above, and no I don't mean Bappa, but rather COLORS management. 😃 They have to COMPETE with other shows, give audiences what they have been trained to expect from other shows. Hence, you are absolutely right, Shreya, and I should keep that in mind more often.
I don't normally watch other shows...the couple that I have over the past 2 or so years have been good, and then boom! they get ridiculous...really, really ridiculous...twins, return from cremation, being missing for years, etc. That's when I stop as a viewer. I love LTL, it's just that the show had started with this sense of realism and simplicity, and I think it is still somewhat there...but has started showing some element of telly-itis. That's just my opinion. And of course, the LTL CVs are superb and have to work with what COLORS tells them.
Fair enough? 😃
Glad u understand...yes its called tellyitis. LTL has stayed away mostly from it. But I suspect that was due to its medium ratings(from Colors perspective). That allowed the show to be on air(without CVs trying usual tracks to keep the show on air) and also let the CVs experiment while the channel focussed on BUN for their ratings.
But with the time slot shift and the amt of publicity around that...I got the feeling now the channel expects the show to deliver. And it has in the first week by becoming the no. 1 show on colors. Which will results in more expectations(ratings wise).
Also from Ashwini's interview and recent articles I am getting the feeling the flavor of the show will change a bit. It will not be a story of just two people. The focus will be on them but there will be more of family thus the back story coming up. This is to ensure the longlivety of the show and also to ensure a loyal audience base. A pure love story as the show has been so far cant go on for long and will not fit the Colors scheme of things in the long run.
