Why every one calls him Bhao is also understood
but why on earth does Babi calls him Bhao????😆
LOL she is of his mother's age almost or looks lyk it
n now that her daughter is married to him dont u think she shud hav at least given "Beta" a try??? at least after that tilak wala epi whn Dutta goes to save Naku????

Bhau is sorta uoffcial title given to Dutta by people in his area. Thats why everyone young or old call him bhau. U know like the english titles to nobility and everyone addresses a nobleman as 'Lord'.

Hey guys, Interesting discussion. As for Babi calling Dutta "Bhau" its not that strange. My mum calls both my brothers-in-law "Thambi" which means younger brother in Tamil and that's very common in most households around here.

I know Babi always calls him Bhao, but on the last episode (I think), I was surprised to hear her call him Dutta Sahib. 😲 I don't think I'm mistaken.......maybe she is trying to make the switch.......😆

.......Actually, it was probably Wednesday's episode not the last one.

oh and i also find babi calling dutta bhao really strange. she should take up beta. he isn't her brother, is younger than her, and he is her son-in-law. so hope she stops calling him bhao asap.

yeah but she can still call him saab and not feel that inferior status anymore..afterall she will be his wife..it can be a special pet name for him..u know the one only naku is allowed to use to address him...😳

In addition to "Aaho" and "Aiktas ka", many Maharashtrian women, especially in the interiors of Maharashtra and more so, if they are married to rich Patils (which, in Marathi, is the title given to the leader/head of an area), do address their husbands as "saheb" out of respect - that is the maharasthrian way - Saheb - but Saab is cute for Nakku so ideally, she can continue calling him Saab/Saheb as he is also a "Patil" in the literal sense and not just for the last name. 😊

Oh really? They do? Then I guess Saab/Saheb is the best! So naku milte hi did taiyyari to become his wife? 😉
This being a practice will even please everyone who want Dutta and Naku to now be looked at as equals. Also Naku is the only one who calls him saab so its her pet name for him anyway.

@shreya: in reality, it happens more because such kind of men are always surrounded by people who are constantly addressing them as saheb and wives think it is a "taboo" to call the names of their husbands. So Saheb is very common in Maharashtra. Some people/politicians are also addressed as "bhausaheb" by their close people. it is funny, but in Maharashtra, it does happen! 🤣 I don't think it is in Nakku's character to call him by his name. She will always be too overwhelmed to address him by his name i think!

I agree....if Naku calls him by name any day it will take her and me some time getting used to it.
