great topic. u r rite dat apart from AS & kishore all oder family members xcept baaji,if hes also considered as family r useless. though sudarshan works wid datta but he earns less 4 datta & spends more & also cheats his wife. but i think dat they can't work outside as datta's rivals like anna may target dem so datswhy not any1 can work normally.

Again, thanks for your replies and your insights.

I doubt their staying home has something to do with being a target for Duttas enemies. I'm pretty sure he has men all over the place and if needed he would position some guards in disguise around the workplace. By the way, this would also mean the kids can't go to school. As I live in a coutry where home schooling is the law and if you don't send your kids to school, the police will show up at your doorstep in the morning to bring them this is the first thing coming to my mind, doubting that Duttas family has to live in a golden cage due to his profession. For Dutta, his mother and Kishore education is very important.

I alwayws hoped the children in the house would be "used" to show how unsure Dutta is about himself. How bad he feels. I know, many members wished for scenes where he interacts with his niece and nephew. I did too. But I wanted them to somehow show how much he cares for them but at the same time trying to keep a certain distance, because he fears something real bad (he thinks he is a monster after all) could rub off on them.

Edited; I know of course that Dutta has enough money to afford a whole bunch of qualified teachers to come to the mansion. But still, it bothers me. Why introduce characters at all when they don't have any purpose (like it seems till now) and why let the viewer wondering about them?

I think I remember AS mentioning at the start that Sethji will go to school with rest of the kids. By that I guess she meant Kala's and Leela's kids.
As for why the kids were introduced...I think initially they were introduced primarily to get scared of Naku's looks. Afterwards Anay was shown as Kala's blackmail tool. Tough yes I wish they showed Dutta more around his niece and nephew.

Wait......Kala and Leela have kids?!?!?!?!? I only started watching the show about 1-2 months ago.
I had NO IDEA they had kids! Wow
They werent at Duttas wedding, which i would have assumed they would be.
Now I wish they used them a bit more, like have Dutta spoil them, or have Naku take better care of them than their mothers do.

Yes, Kala's son has a purpose and he's shown or mentiomed at least (scenes like the one where Kala got annoyed with the crayons in her room) but the girl... I guess we'll have to wait and watch.

Couchpotato, Kala's son was at the wedding before the fiasco took place. He and Sethji were playing with Supriya's Letter. Then he vanished again.

When you have children in the shows, there are practical problems..
and it is not children centric show, so they don't have much to do.. so the directors are conveniently ignoring them.. and it is to the audience to assume that they are in the house..

as for the other members of the family, as shreya pointed out they might be with dutta for security reasons..men of the house doesn't work is still surprising..😕 or again should we assume that they go out for work every day?

Well, I understand they maybe want to save themselves some money by not having too many random extras- like the child actors. And here at least there are strict rules/laws when working with kids. I suppose it's similar in India. It still bugs me though that they're hardly mentioned or that there are no traces of them ( like Anay's crayons once). I have two little kids here and their stuff is practically everywhere. Agreed, I don't have servants to clean their mess, but still. And we talk about them almost all the time.

I wonder if that has Bern intented by the creatives all along. It's easier to despite horrible mothers/parents than the caring types. Even if they plot against their brother all the time. And it underlines how selfish they are (plus the drinking, cheating and so on).

They did show Kala's son in Dutta's wedding. He is shown playing with Sethji.
