What kind of family is this?

This might be a stupid topic, but there is one thing that has been bugging me almost ever since Dutta's family has been introduced to us and I need to get it out of my system.

We met his family members. About eight persons that are dependent on him. I understand his family, especially his mother, needs to be supported by the son. My husband is the eldest son of his family and we too supported the rest as good as we could. But since some of the other siblings have finished their studies, got a job and so on, they help out too. It doesn't depend entirely on us anymore.

And now let's take a look at Dutta's family:

  • three sisters, all grown up (but lazy)
  • two brothers in law, one is unemployed but at least takes care of his son. The other ... we met him later because he was away for ... for what? A bussiness trip? Are you kidding me? All he does is take Duttas money and give himself in to his Dolce Vita (cheating on his wife and spending money. Money he hasn't earned).
I know, Dutta doesn't care because he loves them all from deep within. But, oh, how I wish he would tell them to back off, take care of themselves and stop whining. And if not him, then his mother, for God's sake!

And what about the children? Where are they all the time? Yes, it could have something to do with the budget of the show. But they're hardly ever mentioned.
Kala's pregnancy- I'm pretty sure- was nothing but calculated by her. She only interacts with the boy when she needs it. Patting his head here and there or almost throwing him off the balcony to blackmail her husband.

Now, while Kala's son has at least a wonderful father, Leela's daughter seems to be all by herself, that poor girl. Her mother spends the whole day in Kala's room or trailing behind Naku and/or Babi teasing them. And Sudarshan is Sudarshan, enough said. These have to be the worst parents I've seen (not really, but I won't go too deep into that now).

Sorry again for my ranting. But I sometimes wish I could grab them all by the shoulders- one by one- to shake them and put some sense in their heads. They're such leechers, sucking on Dutta's energy and money. Stressing him instead of supporting him.

And they's such lousy, terrible parents. Am I really the only one that always wonders where the kids are?

Brilliant topic Eva, I was thinking exactly the same whilst watching yesterday's episode whereby Kala's telling Dutta he is everything for them and on the end to Leela and Roops about how pained they would be if Dutta was no more. This merely for the money. If there is no Dutta then were would they drink their champagne, smoke their cigarettes and wear such beautiful sarees.

As much as i adore Kishore, it does not make it right for him to live off his brother in law... yes duniya ki khudi ek taaraf and joru ka bhai ek taraaf but he should be earning for himself and his wife? He is a man of high principles yet has everything served to him on a platter? Or is he really that scared from Kala? I want to know how their marriage started.. He seems like a fantastic father and husband but gets no respect whatsoever from his wife..

Leela and Sudharan's child disappared as if she never existed and yes Leela is only shown running behind Kala or taunting Naku and Babi..

Most annoying though, at the moment is Roops? She is just a pretty extra.. apart from the occasional Nakti, I can't see her role.. Her and Leela really need a good storyline cos you can see both have great potential but with the main focus on TaSha and Kala as the vamp they seem to be useless..

maybe the fact that if they start to work their life has a chance of danger......which may be the risk dutta doesnt want to take...and plus who would want to go to work with bodyguards as an average person- talk about embarassing- the company boss doesnt have bodyguards but the employees do-it would be quite weird 😳

Thanks for your views. I don't have much time now, the World Cup is about to start and we'll be off to watch the opening ceremony. But in short for now; they could work for Dutta (in his legal bussiness, of course) or he could have the bodyguards guarding from some distance. He seems to have men around like at the temple. Agreed, they're lousy bodyguards, but they are there.

I thought of nannies too. But it still irritates me that the kids- at least the girl- have vanished completly. They aren't even at the dining table. And nobody seems in the familiy seems to mind. Not even their grandmother 😒

I am guessing Dutta's family lives with him for security reasons. It might be Dutta's own idea for his peace of mind. That explains why both his married sisters and their husbands live with them. And ofcourse the sisters dont mind it at all living in such luxurious settings.
I am not sure though why Kishore doesnt work. He seems a nice sorta of guy. But apparently he was a teacher So maybe going to work with bodyguards is awkward. And he rather not get involved in Dutta's legal or illegal business. The sisters anyways I guess are not expected to work...they are supposed to be homemakers.
Btw now Dutta's latest family members ie his in-laws live with him. He pointedly made them come back.

Superb topic dear 👏👏👏.
I dont know how many times I have wondered about this family thingy.Didnot open any topic but seriously xcept Dutta & Baaji, nobody seem to be working in the family.
Kishore has busied himself with his son.I do wonder, the guy with principles dont work.😲.
Sudarshan, seems like works less & plan to eat Dutta's money much.😡.
AS ki chodo yaar. She has already been working for her family earlier days.Dutta calls her "Sherni".Definitely, she would have brought her children up in great difficulty.Thats y,she gets so much respect from Dutta.
Kala, wont work. She just runs her "Dutta's life damaging machine"-HER BRAIN.No other work.Keeping an eye on Dutta's life is her full time job.
Leela & Roops-the most useless in Dutta's house.
Dutta has to bare all the nakhras of his three-Evil-Sisters.Keep himself gud,so that he doesnot bring tears in AS eyes.Protect his family from his enemies. He should also bring all luxuries which are eaten by his "Evil Sisters".
Risk his life for everything his family enjoy.(sisters 😡).
Really xcept Kishore & AS,nobody deserves Dutta's love & care & affection among these..

Duttas mother is not on my list of course. She has brought the children up and looked after them after her husband's death. I'm sure she worked really har in the past. It's just that I sometimes wish she would put some sense in the heads of the rest.

Even I wish I could have a day or two without anything to do. But not the whole life. No wonder Kala keeps coming up with so many plans, she must be bored to no end. She seriously needs a hobby.

I respect every woman that decides to stay at home. That's hard work, and not only from nine to five, but many, many hours of cleaning, managing the family, sleepless nights beside your kid's bed and so on. But the Patil women have servants, they don't have to take care of anything. And they still don't manage to spend some time with their kids.

Which brings me to another thought I had. What if Kishore decided to stay home to look after his son. Knowing Kala isn't that interested in being a good mother he maybe wanted to give the boy the feeling of being wanted and loved. Something like this?

I guess yesterdays episode was the drop in the ocean for me. Dutta was all teary and broken while Kala was lying right in his face about how much they need him.

Hey eva! Great topic yaar!
About the entire family leeching off of Dutta, isn't that usually how it goes with financially stable families. I am not saying all of them are lazy and leechers but if they have the OPTION to be comfortably lazy, I am not surprised they took it. The sisters' laziness is expected because here are women who are making warped plans to keep their brother as their own personal meal ticket - if they had the intentions to work or support themselves, they wouldn't need half the plans that they make these days.
Coming to the son-in-laws, I guess I can understand Kishore's desire to be a stay at home dad especially since the mother doesn't do anything for the kid. Once maybe Anay grows up Kishore will be more inclined to take up a day job - something obviously not related to Dutta's line of work off course.
With Sudarshan though, I think it's Dutta who doesn't trust him. I mean Dutta rarely lets him go out for any work at all. And the man wants to dig his claws into the already made money so I'll be damned if he ever works at anything else other than kissing up to Dutta.. 🤔
