I don't think he loves his sisters because he loves them. I think he feels obligated to love them because apparently they love him so much. Remember in the car he asks his Aayi if she's already told his sisters about him and then got a little frustrated when he found out that she had. He almost looked like he was too tired to deal with it. So I think when he finds out that his sisters don't love him, he's not going to be crushed because he loves them, but because he thought that they really loved him.

true! though sometimes i wonder if he already knows. i mean till now we havent seen datta only thru others eyes. like his niceness thru naku's eyes or thru what baji has to say of him. his love for his sisters and what he can do for them is from the viewpoint of his sisters. but they have never really shown what datta really thinks. sudarshan remarks datta is a dumbo...but then datta isnt always a dumbo. so i wonder if he's just playing along with his sisters. doesnt want to accept their truth or has a reason to keep quiet. but then datta is also shown to be a straight talker...wud he really be playing games with his sisters?

They haven't revealed enough of Dutta's personality to us so I can't even begin to venture if he already knows. They really have shown Dutta to us through everyone else's eyes. We have yet to hear Dutta's point of view or meet the real Dutta. I am getting fairly impatient now! *sigh* 😍

And I think Dutta's an iceberg. What we see is nothing compared to what we don't see. Baaji told Ganpat that he's only seen Dutta's love and not his anger. So if Dutta gets angry, what's to say that he isn't going to be capable of "playing games"? We haven't seen Dutta angry, so we don't know what he's capable of when he feels wronged.

Datta is a don and i guess a "successful" one at that. So we really dont know a big aspect of his personality. so i guess ur rite...he's an iceberg..a bigger part of him is still hidden.
me too eager to meet the real datta...i too want to know what he thinks..esp abt naku. btw i dunno why when i was reading articles of a don being the male lead of this show i got the impression that datta patil will be some small time gangster who will save naku. thats why seeing the don in a suit was a shock for me. 😆

Lol really?! I didn't have the chance to ponder about the "gangster's" character graph because I watched all the shows this week. Lol, but I can see what you mean. If I was watching this show from the start, I'd be (pleasantly) shocked at finding Dutta instead of a small time tapoori. 😆

actually i was intrigued by the show's concept. the male lead was finalized after the show started. so they wud give articles abt the search for the male lead in TB. given that naku lives in a basti i thought datta patil will be some kind of small time tapori who does hafta vasooli from the people of naku's basti. and perhaps he will marry naku for some reason and then it will some chandini bar style struggle for naku to survive with her kids while her useless husband is in jail or does bhai giri. actually colors is into all these social serials so something like this would have fitted their agenda. thats why im pleasantly shocked that LTL and yeh pyaar na hoga kam are not social issue serials. LTL started off kinda like one but now its a regular show. but i wonder abt the title. when they say 'laagi tujhse lagan' whose lagan are they talking abt? naku's lagan for datta? as in some sort of dangerous attraction a girl has for an underworld don...u know like monica bedi had for abu salem which takes her down a road of no return. or are they talking of datta's lagan for naku wherein he becomes a victim of her beauty by virtue of being her love.

I think it's a little bit of both - Nakku's laagan for Dutta and Dutta's laagan for Nakku. Although Nakku's laagan for Dutta isn't something that will take her down the road of misery. It's probably about how Dutta's love will give her more strength and help her rise above her misery. And for Dutta, maybe he'll finally learn to open up and let his old wounds heal once he gets her love.

I guess you are right...I am only thinking of a tragic but passionate love story like wuthering heights. but i hope naku's love not only heals his old wounds but also makes datta give up his business and lead a more legal life.

The television is filled with good love stories that turn into tragedy - sometimes on purpose and sometimes because the story's progression falls stale. I'd like one good love story that is more accomplished than it's predecessors.

if only tv types could give up the temptation of dragging a nice show...we wud have had lot more decent love stories on tv.
