1. When it had family and friends talking and chatting, eating together and fighting of course but in a realistic manner......not having loaded guns and offing each other at the drop of a hat.......There must be conflict for a good soap but the conflict must come from the characters' difference of opinion not forced upon........
2. When you have a good love story don't push your luck.....Karan-Nandini's unconsummated love (?) is interesting but only when they are still in their 30's not when are they are sharing dentures.......
3. Get rid of unwanted characters and focus on the ones that are well fleshed out.
4. Build a story arch for a character and resolve a story within a reasonable time and towards a reasonable climax. Don't let them all hang like loose skin.
5. Stop the vendetta, plastic surgery, generation leaps, 1000 crores business, coup d'etat, scheming and conniving. For a change, focus on the brighter aspects of life. Give people what they want --- good sweet love stories, conflict and resolution, and get rid of jerky camera movements and dadam music!!!!
All this actually apply to all of Kekta's soaps since they are all beginning to look like assembly-line products with little to distinguish them from one another. It began with such a flourish it would be a shame if the writers and producers don't wake up and let it die with a whimper! Ekta should stop producing more and start concentrating on the ones she has already.
