Contrary to reports that his role in Kyunki is over, Rahoul Lohani, who used to play Mayank in the show, claims that it was he who refused to be part of the show anymore.
Explaining his stance, Rahoul says, "My contract got over in September and Balaji's legal department called me to renew it. But I refused it as my track was not going anywhere. Nobody knows where the Mayank is and how he disappeared from that manhole when Tulsi tried to escape with him from the mental asylum. Also, they wanted me for the second half of the month which I could not promise them."
Rahoul alleges that the track narrated to him was different. "My character was supposed to become the main negative one. And the story was that KT is possessive about me as I am mentally challenged, so she starts pampering me and I also develop a soft corner for her. Then, I slowly start hating Lakshya as he wants to marry her and even hatch a conspiracy to kill him."
What happened then? "Suddenly one day they told me that you are going to rape KT now, which was very surprising for me. They did that just because they wanted to boost TRPs but after they sent me to jail, my mother who never wanted me to be sent to the asylum became busy in her planning against Tulsi, which was not at all logical," protests the actor.
The actor maintains that this was one of his best roles but adds, "Unfortunately, the track was not going logically. I understand there are many characters in the show but I just want to move on in my life. I felt bad while saying no to them. Now if they offer me anything I will think thrice before saying yes and I will take their signature on a paper which will say that the track will not change abruptly."
Rahoul has stopped following the show but praising Ekta Kapoor, he says, "I met her only in parties and I think she is a mature person with a great creative team at her disposal. I don't know why she is playing with her own show like this."
On being asked what he is up to these days, Rahoul says, "I am going to sign two big banner shows where I will play the lead. I will start shooting for them in November and they will come on air in December. I am not allowed to reveal much about them. That apart, I am also attending classes for music, dancing and pampering myself."
He adds, "Recently I went to an orphanage at Parle, Mumbai to celebrate my birthday. It was great a pleasure as they were not leaving me alone even for a single moment. They are the ones who give you inspiration for struggle. I also bought a Honda Accent car for myself. Then, my friends Kirti and Sharad threw a surprise party for me. So it turned out to be great birthday. I cut 6 cakes this year."
Rahoul's other show Jab Luv Hua ended three months back.
