Gunjan finally gets noticed

Whether in real or reel life, extra-marital affairs are never forgiven and forgotten so easily. While real life experiences can end on an unhappy note, in our soaps the wife always teaches her errant husband a lesson or two by trying to flirt with another guy. That's exactly what Archita of Kyunki is doing. She was encouraged by her sister Bhoomi to marry Abhir so that Bhoomi could continue having an affair with him under the same roof.

But when Archita discovered the secret liaison between her sister and husband, she was shattered. "Archita and Abhir never shared a strong marital bond," says Gunjan Vijaya who plays Archita. "But when Archita saw Bhoomi and Abhir having fun in a hotel room, she was so shocked that she couldn't believe her own sister could be so mean to her. So she decides to get even with Abhir and starts flirting with Billy Thakral which makes Abhir insecure as Archita and Billy had studied together abroad and know each other well."

Don't know about Archita, but Gunjan is thrilled with the affair because this has finally given her character a chance to shine. After remaining on the sidelines for almost a year, her character is finally getting prominence. "Archita started off as a sweet and naive girl who was there in the family as one of the members. The character never got much importance. But now she has transformed into a mature, strong woman who is getting enough screen space," smiles Gunjan, adding, "The changed Archita is just like me, a no-nonsense, strong and mature girl."
