Bollywood's single female dilemma John Abraham and Bipasha Basu's troubled relationship throws up the question whether the single working female in Bollywood has the time (and the energy) to invest in relationships, given the frenzied work ethic of the industry. The normal time afforded to women to nurse a relationship that is smarting, is not available to women who work 14-hour shifts six and even seven days a week. We spoke to three actresses who were single, and three who have been in long partnerships, and asked them what the problems of finding and keeping love in Bollywood were. Mouni Roy, single: All relationships get affected by work Doing daily soaps, our schedules become hectic. We have to reach the sets on time and we end up working all the time so in that respect it is hard. Another thing is that I wouldn't like to hear or read rubbish but I think it's a part of our job. People write because they want something to write about. Readers also need something interesting so it's okay but it should not go beyond a limit. Thursday 21 june 2007 |
