Ok, here's my two cents...

I think whenever a character fails to make the desired impact, the blame goes to part the actor, part the character. Well, over here, I'd place more blame on the character. I'll get to the actor later.

Now, why are the "creative" team etching the character in such a way?? What happened to all that burning revenge inside Tulsi? YOu would think after going through such a horrific ordeal would just strengthened Tulsi's resolve to get strike back...! Instead she comes back and whispers "Main Tulsi Virani hoon... Main hoon Tulsi Virani!" She can't even seem to convince Baa!!!! How hard is it to convince a 106 year old woman?!!?!?!? The character seems to have lost everything. All it's strength, all it's essence, the power, all gone. She's nothing but a helpless puppet in SN's ruthless power/mind games.

Now, coming to the actor. Granted, it's been just 2 days since she's been Tulsi. Given. But some people are just not cut out to play certain characters! Gautami, no doubt, is a good actor, but she just seems to be a really bad choice for the character! I think Padmini Kholapure would have been a better fit, as she has a sense of matronly strength surrounding her, just as Smriti did... Gautami, firstly, looks too young for the role, she looks like someone "play - pretending" to be a mother... Secondly, she seems to be too delicate and graceful to be Tulsi... Tulsi is a character that while no means not graceful, wasn't delicate. The ordeals that women went through moulded her into this strong woman, not scared to stand up and voice her opinion, whether they were right or not. She was totally self confident and always believed in what she was doing. This new Tulsi, played by Gautami, seems to have a tentative, almost scared nature to her. Just not happenning. Gautmai seems incredibly nervous. She needs to be more confident, in my opinion. I think we should give her a week or two, but I dont hold out much hope. Smriti has always been Tulsi Virani to me, and she shall remain to be.
