'I crave for security in life'
Reshmi Ghosh seems to have moved on in life after not making it as a film heroine. Reshmi says, "I am pleased to have found my niche and win appreciation through my stint on television. I remember I was so reluctant to accept the character of Bhoomi that I had cried for two days before agreeing to do the role."
She continues, "It was a challenge to play a grey character in my debut programme because until then I had only done positive roles. It definitely was a challenge to do something so diametrically opposite of what I had done till then. When I receive compliments for my performance it means a lot than being complimented for good looks."
Reshmi feels that films are an insecure medium. "I crave for security in life. Hence, I enjoy working on television. It not only gives me a chance to showcase my skills but also gives me fame, pays me well and pays on time!" says Reshmi, who secretly admits that she is still open to doing films.
However, acting is not the only thing that tops the priority list of the lissome lass. Apparently, producer Shobha Kapoor has influenced her to continue modelling. She says, "I was having a casual chat with Shobhaji when she suggested that I start modelling again since I had maintained myself quite well."
Interestingly, Reshmi is also going back to her singing riyaaz, something that she left after becoming a model. "Though I can't claim to be a superlative singer, I did participate in some concerts in Kolkata earlier. Now, after being egged on by close ones to revive this talent, I am set to brush-on my voice. I would love to participate in concerts in Mumbai," says Reshmi, who plans to marry fianc Amit Gupta by the end of this year!"
