I usually like Karan's character, but right now, I don't see what basis he has for doing everything against his own son. Everyone knows Manthan's not a goody goody, but you can't just put the blame on him without any solid ground. So far, the only reason why I think Karan is going against his own son is because he wants to trust Tulsi's opinion and because he really wants to believe that Eku has Sthn of an Ansh inside him (taking Nandani's opinion, in other words) and that is why he's supporting who ever is the rapist (in this case, Manthan). Apart from that, he has no reason to suspect Manthan.
I found one of Tanya's lines in Friday's epi to be sooo TRUE with regard to Karan. She told him that "tumhe apne khoon par itna bharosaa nahin hai, jitna tumhe Ansh ke gunde khoon par bharoosa hai" (You don't trust your own blood as much as you trust the bad blood of Ansh). I literally cheered at this line, because I found it to be such an accurate reflection of what Karan's doing right now.
And in today's epi, he told Tanya that Vijay (his friend/lawyer) won't be helping her because he told him not to take the case. Even if Karan is against his son, the LEAST he can do is make sure his son gets a fair trial. The least he can do is appoint a lawyer for his son, but he isn't even doing that. And even if he doesn't want to do appoint one himself, atleast let Tanya do it. Wah Karan, so much for ur quest for seeking the "Truth."
This topic isn't meant to be an offensive against Karan's character in any way. I like his character in general, but right now, he's getting on my nerves. He's not even aware of the whole situation. He just walks into the house after several days, finds out about the blame, and goes against his son without even thinking twice??? I'm starting to think he has something against his own son and wants him to get punished, no matter what. This might not be true, but that's what his character seems to be transpiring out to me right now.
