Baa only likes the real stuff!

Baa (Sudha Shivpuri) of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahi Thi likes only real jewellery. During the shoot she uses her own real gold jewellery instead of fake or imitation jewellery.

"I like to buy and wear jewellery. Today married girls don't wear any type of jewellery which looks foolish. On the very next day of their marriage they remove all their jewellery which is very bad. Every married woman looks good when she wears mangalsutra and other jewellery. Without sindoor they look funny. The woman who says that I don't like jewellery is stupid. I like to buy jewellery and whenever I have money I prefer to buy it."

"In the serial I used to play a mother in the show so that time I wore jewellery. However now I'm old in and playing grandmother so my jewellery is less. But the fact is that I don't like imitation or fake jewellery. On the sets from day one I used my own real jewellery. I can't tell you how much jewellry I have, but I have preserved my old jewellery as well. In my younger days after marriage we used to buy jewellery for my daughter Ritu."

"After marriage my husband and I bought my first piece piece of jewellery, a nose ring. We used to have full time jobs plus do theatre. The pay wasn't good. We bought the nose ring for Rs. 200, which was a lot of money for us on those days. It was our first purchase of jewellery after marriage. It is very nice and I have preserved it even though it is broken."

"Then after 'Don' where my husband (Om Shivpuri) played a villain, he got many big offers, naturally our financial condition became good. That time gifted me diamond rings. As he knew that I liked diamonds. I have preserved these rings as well."

Om Shivpuri played Interpol officer R.K Mallik in old Don. Om and Sudha's daughter Ritu is also an actress. Her first film was Aankhen with Govinda and Chunky Pandey. Now she is keenly involved into jewellery designing.

Recently Sudha had an done informative programme for Star TV in which she explained the meaning of Akshya Tritiya. This year Akshya Tritiya is on 20 April. It is one of the holiest days of the Hindu year.

Sudha says: "Akshya Tritiya is holy day for Hindus. It brings money (Laxmi) and peace (shanti). On this day we generally buy gold for auspicious purpose."'
