Since the topic of discussion will be rape for many months. I felt like sharing this heartbreaking story with you guys. 😭

We hear more about how in sudan, darfur the neighbors and the militia gang rape a woman because they consider it ethnic cleansing. 🤢After the woman is raped they leave markings on the woman as a sign that she has been raped and she has been cleansed. 😭

But did you know in south africa men with aids will rape children even babies as well in the hope they get rujevenated and be cured from aids. 🤢I saw this documentary on how a 3 year old baby girl got raped by a grown man with aids. You should have seen this girl's eyes, she didnt say anything she just stared at the camera, it was so hauting to watch. 😭It was hearbreaking, I cried so much and nothing till today has affected me as much as that little baby girl. After the rape, the poor thing couldnt walk, it took a very long time for this child to physially recover. The child has no parents, only a grandmother. The rapist was never caught, but it is so common that they couldnt do anything about it. Oh god just thinking that there are more children out there who got raped it is unimaginable. 😭😭

It must be so hard for a grown woman to go through such an traumatic experience. Atleast in some level women might have the capacity to recover, but a baby she wont even understand what happened to her. The worst part is the child could have aids, she could be infected with HIV, but they didnt know yet at that point. In the end she did a little dance and smiled so beautifully, and I never could imagine how after everything she had the spirit in her to dance. I prayed that the light in her never gets burnt out, she doesnt have aids and she recovers fully. 😭

Doesn't stuff like that just kill you? When you see people, with so little, with almost nothing to smile about, laughing, going on with their lives, bravely; while the rest of us whine and crib about how the barista gave us low fat decaf WITH sugar instead of WITHOUT sugar/our computers not working/having to get up each morning or whatever it is that we whine about everyday?

I actually have heard of this ritual you are talking about. Men, they rape/have sex with virgins, because it is believed that this will cure them of AIDS. Which is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard. This higlights to us, the power of education. This reminds us, what power we have, as educated induviduals of the society. We have a chance to change all this.

It sometimes depresses me, what a sad/cruel place this world is. Especially to those people who do not deserve it. Like poor Kesar, Nandini and KT. What were their crimes? Nothing.

It's going to take me a long time to get over this. Yes, it's a serial. People are mocking me that I am getting worked up over a serial. Something that is not real, people that are not real. What they dont get is that I am disturbed at the real issue at hand. But I guess it's never going to get through to people who care more about what sneakers they're wearing or how much gel they put in their hair, to care about the world, just a little.

I know what you mean Nimmi. After I watched the docmentary, I was sort of ashamed at myself for wasting away my life and complaining about petty things. There is so much we can do to make this world a better place. I am not sad about KT, because she is not real, but this rape just reminded me of this little girl and that is what is depressing. I never forgot about her but it was always in the back of my head. 😭

That's very true Nimmi...this whole rape issue is a very sensitive one. Sympathizing with a soap character who's been raped...that's not unrealistic or pathetic. After all, rape happens in real life, and that was projected in Kyunki with KT as the victim. She may be an imaginary character, but her reaction was that of any real life girl who's suffered from sexual abuse....I couldn't sleep properly last night...the rape scene kept popping into my mind every now and then...and not because KT was raped, but because of the concept of rape in general.
