Love Lasts Forever
Our correspondent Sonia sits down with Sumeet Sachdev and Riva Bubber (Gautam and Damini Virani of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) to talk about their relationship in the characters after the serial takes its 2nd 20 year leap.
How would you describe your nephew Manthan played by Amit Tandon?
Riva- Manthan is basically a spoiled brat and thinks superior of himself. Although I have to hand it to Amit he portrays his character very well.
Sumeet- Yea like Riva said he is a spoiled brat, no questions asked but regardless of how negative his character is shown his heart isn't as bad. Manthan feels for people that are close to him and love him not the people that try to challenge him.
How would you describe your niece Bhoomi played by Reshmi Ghosh?
Riva- Bhoomi is in many ways Karan's life but she's not negative like her brother Manthan but she still remains to be spoiled. She can be rude but not compared to Manthan, gradually you will see Bhoomi become more open to her family, but one thing that won't change is her love for Tanya.
Sumeet- To me Bhoomi is more of a quiet person. Most of the time Manthan is the one talking, Bhoomi is more of an observer.
How would describe your son Nakul, who was raised by Sahil and Tripti?
Riva- In my eyes Nakul always longed for love ever since Ganga left, regardless of me and Gautam being his parents he wouldn't take anything from us.
Sumeet- Nakul is a kid that was brought up in a harsh way, what he didn't get as a kid he longs for it now/ The thought of seeing Nakul living so poorly just kills Gautam because to this day he wants him back but due to the stubbornness of Sahil and is incapability of providing what is necessary for his children, Nakul still wants to be with them.
How would you describe your nephew Lakshya played by Pulkit Samrat?
Riva- Lakshya is like his mom Ganga, he is someone which every family should have. Not to mention he's the heartthrob of many girls.
Sumeet- He is definetly a heartthrob but he deserves it. Lakshya is definetly Tulsi's grandson his nature and his courage to stand up for the truth is something that is to be proud of.
Last but not least, how would you describe your niece Archita by played Gunjun?
Riva- She's the complete opposite of Mohini and in some ways like Indu. Her jokes and her relationship with other characters in her generation make the show a little more intreseting.
Sumeet- I agree she's nothing like her mom Mohini, she does have a sense of humor I have to admit!
Now lets shift to your relationship, how have your characters changed after the leap?
Riva- You may have noticed but Damini has become more calm and isn't as mouthing as she use to be. Instead of attacking back she takes it in.
Sumeet- Gautam has also changed tremendously from 20 years ago, he gets along better with Karan then he did 20 years ago. He's also a lot calmer and not as hot-headed as before. But still he remains somewhat of the same guy.
Your couple is the only couple that has remained loyal to each other after the leap, by other words I mean you to are still loving towards each other and your responsibilities to each other. Is their a particular reason for that?
Riva- Well the main reason is love. Gautam really loves Damini and as you have seen he would do anything for her. In the beginning you saw that both of us had questioned our relationship many times. If it was any other girl she wouldn't be able to understand Gautams love, but Damini can and that to me is a big part of our relationship.
Sumeet- It's love and nothing more. Gautam may seem like a the guy who only cares about himself but in reality his main purpose of living is for his wife Damini. He loves Damini more than anything in the world and is capable of doing anything for her. Now that you think of it it's a true saying that love lasts forever!
Whats the only thing that Gautam doesn't like about Damini?
Sumeet- I have to say its her unsatisfication with Gautams relationships with other family members. But other than that Gautam likes everything about Damini.
Whats the one thing Damini doesn't like about Gautam?
Riva- Definetly his habbit of jumping to conclusions. Other than that Gautam and Damini are good to go!!
Well thanks to both of you Sumeet and Riva, for taking time out of your busy schedules and chatting with us.
Riva-Not a problem I was glad to do it.
Sumeet- It was my pleasure!
