From jest to sting of life...A come back for many including Apara Mehta
Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia, who brought in a whiff of fresh air with comedies like Khichdi, Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai and Baa, Bahoo Aur Baby, are ready with their next offering, Resham Dankh. The story, based on a serialised novel Kapadia co-wrote with Mahesh Yagnik for a Gujarati publication, will go on air on Star One from August 14.
The makers are reluctant to give away the story though all Kapadia is willing to say is "it's about a child who brings in a significant change in the lives of this happy and socially affluent family. The child's arrival changes lots of equations in the family." Resham Dankh stars Sulabha Deshpande, Apara Mehta, Sumeet Raghvan, Raahil Azim and Mouli Ganguly among others. Yash Badrani will play the protagonist.
Even though Gujarati families are usually at the centre of their shows, this time it is a "metropolitan family", that is being focused upon. Majethia says, "This time we have focused more on a metropolitan family rather than emphasising on any one language or community." About the intriguing title Majethia insists that it emphasises on the certain paradoxes in life. "Sometimes a person who is close to you, who you feel is incapable of hurting you, can sting you. And so the title Resham Dankh, which means the sting of silk."
