I must be an actor with the largest number of controversies attached to my name. Balaji is a public limited company, Star is a highly-rated channel and Kyunkii… is the highest revenue generator for Balaji and Star. Such false reports put everyone in a spot.
Does it bother you?
Honestly, it hurts. My family, channel and production house don't deserve this. For six years I've worked with Balaji and my association with Star goes back even longer. I'm like a horse with blinkers. I try not to get bothered with such talk.
Why are you roped into a controversy every few months?
It all comes from one source, and I don't know why. I genuinely feel I don't need to react to such imaginary stories. Who are these 'sources' who claim I'm leaving the serial? How can I react to ghosts? For the six years that I've been working in Kyunkii..., Shobha Kapoorji, Ekta and I have been meeting behind closed doors with no fourth person present. How can outsiders make assumptions about our conversation?

Someone who is keen to see me go. Someone is trying desperately to break my six-year association with Kyunkii… I don't allow myself to be pained by such stories. However, my fans and audiences do react.

It's said there was a dispute about you looking old in Kyunkii..?
If there was a dispute would I have agreed to act? I had stated earlier that I had no problems with aging, if the script requires it. I must be the oldest-looking protagonist on any of the soaps.
What about the show you are co-producing with Balaji?
In that show, I play a girl (Uma) who goes through tremendous hardships in life.
