They were the real stars. Their potential and fan following made them larger than life. But it was that one 'big' mistake that changed their fate. Let's find out what the so-called big stars of TV doing these days.
Amar Upadhayay: He was the biggest discovery on Indian television. Mihir Virani was as popular as (or more) than Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Dutt. But after his fallout with mentor Ekta Kapoor and subsequent ouster from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi the actor faded into complete oblivion. For some time now, a jobless Amar has been sending feelers to EK and trying to get back in her good books. But going by Ekta's unforgiving nature, the chances are dim.
Niki Aneja: Her TV show Astitva was touted as the most sensitive and sensible show of the year. Overnight stardom got Niki in the big league. She was a tough competition to Smriti Irani (Tulsi) and Saakshi Tanwar (Parvati).
But after Astitva wound up, Niki failed to get that one good role that would do justice to her name and fame. It was dearth of work that made Niki return back to her in-laws house in UK. She gave birth to twin babies- a boy and a girl.
Cezanne Khan: The most controversial actor on TV, Cezanne Khan was every actresses dream man. After four years of Kasauti Zindagi Kay , Khan built a palatial bungalow for himself in Versova. His smart (and big) investments cost him a fortune.
Probably, that's why Khan lost interest in his TV assignments. He wanted to do films and hence quit the show. In the bargain he ruffled many feathers. Currently, the actor is not doing any work.
Nausheen Ali Sardar: The original Kkusum , Nausheen was a big success. She was called the best looking actress on TV. It was those compliments that made her realize that with that beautiful face she was meant for films and not the small screen. Like the others even Nausheen thought that she will make it big. Unfortunately, Nausheen's decision to quit TV backfired. None of the films she signed ever saw the light of the day. She lives a reclusive life in her huge flat in Lokhandwala.
Varun Badola: The most talented of the lot. Varun has had many hits to his credit. Des Mein Nikalla Hoga Chand , Koshish and Astitva , Varun was the highest paid actors on TV. But his interfering nature and high handed behavior cost him a lot. Today, he is the first choice of most producers but its starry demands' and tantrums that gives them cold feet. Varun is married to actress Rajeshwari Sachdev. After more than a year the actor will be seen in a cameo in an upcoming show Ajeeb .
