The show is basically catering to KJ fans and that's it. While I think KJ is a good actor, I'm displeased with the storyline and erratic characterization of his role. It's also unfair to the other actors that older fans have watched since the beginning. They butchered or sidelined main characters for the sake of this regressive plot. The originality and authenticity of the show has been lost. The show originally starred three strong-willed and independent female leads, and now it's down to one typical bichari FL who is at the whim of a man, the second lead has had massively reduced screen space and is being dragged into saas-bahu torture drama for no reason, and the third was cut altogether because the actress wised up and realized it was time to leave a sinking ship. The two male leads, who were a breath of fresh air in their non-toxic masculinity, are now playing second fiddle to a ridiculously toxic ML. One ML is slowly being turned negative and embittered, while the second has greatly reduced screen space and no storyline. With how the show is going, what is there for original fans to discuss? You can only complain for so long.

Edit: I forgot to mention there were also strong secondary characters who played family members and now the side characters are so blah and lacking depth.

Hi Guneet,

Thanks for making this thread. I started watching the show post leap with Veer’s entry, and no, I am not his fan. I took a proper detour and watched the entire show from the beginning.

I fell in love with everything about the show. I don't find it ridiculous or boring at any point in time. I think all the characters are very well written, only apart from Radha being wiped away.

Pre-Leap: The show was about colour, romance, period drama, partition and flamboyance.

Post Leap: it was about complications, sacrifice, and pain that the partition or otherwise brought by the characters.

I think the range of emotions and scope being given to Randhir is a phenomenal post leap- Zaan being a discovery as an actor.

I shall give you a very unbiased review. Post leap, given the pandemic too, the scale of the show has become limited, with only a few characters being focussed upon.

I love Veer, not because I love and ship manhandling, but because of the level of complexity he brings to an otherwise sweet, simple love story.

What's a love story without conflict?

What if Veer never existed? The show went and would close with The Amdheer Reunion. Then what? The show will end.

I love Amdheer, and I think whatever happened to them was brutal!

But, I like the way Veer is driving their story: the necessary Phillip To the pace.

I would want Radha, more Bua etc., to come back to the show.

Instead of turning this into amrit's story, they should have given us what was promised... That is the story of 3 girls before and after partition.... There are many of us who started watching for vashmay and radha... We expected a show which gives equal ss to all leads... But no, what we are getting is one of the girls playing domestic politics day in and day out... By sidelining two ML's who respected women, they introduced a misogynistic creepy lead who can stoop to any lows to get what he wants... Vashma's story had lots of potential post leap, but they ruined it by giving half baked tracks for her and uday.... Even their marriage track was turned into a circus by making it all about the triangle.

Veer 's complexity and the fact that he is Randheer's brother and had a hand in his falling ( guilt trip track) would have been fine if handled properly with due 1951 era context and well researched authenticity. He could have met Amrit in a more realistic way and if he had to marry her it could have been better written. Props and scenes may have suffered due to the pandemic and shooting in Gujrat, but screenplay and dialogues add a lot of flavor to the story. Why would anyone watch a period drama like Bridgerton etc.- to get a glimpse into that time period and to see what was the premise- a love story and a life of that time.

All the three stories had great potential and the lost brother track also could have been very interesting, but the majority of the viewers feel that that main story - which was Amrit, Vashma and Radha's love stories- did not evolve as well as could be done. You have a fantastic authentic backdrop of the partition, in which you side skipped the freedom struggle, its fine. Because the focus was the stories of the women and maybe we were given false hopes of their empowerment. Their Journey in independent India would have been an inspiring tale for the present generation who cant even imagine a world without net connectivity amongst other forms of self expression. But you bring them to India and then lose track of the protagonists journey, to make a character like Veer and his family crush the original stories and add cringeworthy scenes and dialogues making it run of the mill, Its not fair.

Now the situation is -that accepting Amrit for Randheer will be weird after she has been married to and living with his own brother. And for Veer to go through the same after he comes to know about Randheer.

I don't think Veer or his family adds any value to the story at all. And honestly, I am not even an AmDheer fan to begin with. This show was a class apart because the makers dared to introduce three leads with different characteristics and struggles whereas majority of the shows can't even properly highlight the lead couple - often end up butchering the ML for glorifying FL and catering to general audience.

Unfortunately first they royally ignored Radha and then sidelined VashMay too to give Amrit the center stage. It's true that eventually all shows have to evolve and it can't stay limited to the basic concept shown in promo. But it's one thing to evolve and another to take a 180 degree flip.

There is Zameen Asmaan Ka Farq in the pre and post leap Amrit. And Veer's character too isn't handled properly. The type of things they are showing it suits to 2021 not 1951. And troubled past doesn't give anyone the right to torture anyone else. The biggest issue is, he is a villain in the story doing exactly what Farooque was doing pre-leap.

Farooque chose religion to get what he wants, Veer is using his influence and status - that's all. The only problem is SSP and Sony hyping this otherwise pshchotic character to cater to a more famous actors' fans.

I strongly disagree that the union of Amrit and Randheer would end the story. Their acceptance in a newfound India, Randheer's struggle to find his parents, Amrit struggling to establish herself as a writer and trying to bring some change while constantly being harassed for her tattoo - you name it. There wouldn't be any dearth of storyline for this couple alone and here we had VashmAy and Radha too.

It's simply disheartening that the makers chose the easy way and ruined a beautiful show with much potential.

Hi thank you for your valuable input. I have also watched this show from the start and quite liked the different concept.

One thing, I don't really hate any character tbh. I think every character pre and post leap has their place in the show.

What's my complain is, the CVs jumped at a potential love traingle but their execution didn't reflect that. They wanted to retain amdheer fans but also appease fans of KJ with AmVeer.

The execution of this entire post leap story is horrible. Think of it, so much drama for months and what is the progression? Nothing. Makers keep dragging both amdheer and AmVeer to square one. This is what's really frustrating. Atleast show the damn story properly

The story post leap has been so awfully executed, I can't even begin to tell you. Firstly, the love triangle seemed futile to me too. But then I saw a few episodes and thought maybe veer can be an interesting character.

Veer and his family had an important role to play in the show but the makers ruined it entirely. They haven't progressed linearly with the storyline in months! They keep circling between Amdheer and AmVeer but there is no progress in any of their relations.

The show is a complete mess. Makers should choose a linear path and develop the show on it not circle like a jalebi. I first thought Veer would be with Amrit, fall in love with her but amrit won't reciprocate because she loved randheer. Then revelation of veer and randheer being brothers will come out which would bring out the complexity of these three but at the end amrit would choose one and the show ends.

But no, makers themselves don't know what the hell are they showing. Characters do things randomly out of the blue. It's just sad at this point.

Exactly!

It's the writing and proper execution that drives a story forward. The makers seem to pay zero attention to that aspect. And let's just say, Veer is indeed a grey character so he is bound to do some mischief. Even grey characters are consistent and we see a pattern in their behavior or at least, those who are written properly. The way they keep flipping Veer's traits at points he seem like a totally mentally retarded person and at some points someone who is completely devoid of humanity. You can't flip between these two and then use such a character to force a love triangle. The truth is makers are trying to milk it from both KJ's popularity and the original fans who loved AmDheer. But all I can see is more and more people getting detached from it. I guess those who are watching since post-partition they might give it a try but for those who have seen it from the very beginning, it's hot mess.
