I am 2 months late in watching the series. I don't believe I was missing out on this show. Binged watched the first 10 eps.
I haven't watched Fatmagul so I don't know how this show does wrt that but on it's own KQHAK is really well done. I liked the character sketches the most. for instance, from the start Dev had this undertones of possessiveness which they showed subtly leading to his reaction on the incident which felt in tandem with the character. No character is over-blown in the portrayal. (atleast till the 1st 10 eps). Everything feels quite realistic.

The scenes are so nicely acted and directed, I felt connected to the characters.
It's so difficult to get emotionally invested in contemporary hindi tellyshows since they have an overload of melodrama with the same angry/rich ML and mahaan FL. This show is really a breath of fresh air.

Though Fatmagul was a finite show (I am guessing here) so I don't know how that would work out here. I wouldn't want the PH/cvs compromising on the quality for a long run. Atleast it's airing on a channel which has dabbled in quite a few finite shows till now.

It's a finite show, but it's going to be a long run show, as there were 80 episodes in the FG series, and each episode was nearly 100 minutes And here, we have hardly a 22 min episode. Like that if we count, it nearly comes out to be 365 episodes and that might be dragged till 400-410 episodes. Till they were in Dharamshala, they were exactly copying each scene, and after they came to Mumbai, they started mixing and matching the scenes, and a little bit change, so, like this I guess they are trying to compress out the episodes. Let's see what happens! 😆😆

Hey Annie!

Thanks for the info. :)

If they are drawing on the original and adding their own stuff then I think this serial will have a long run without compromising on quality. Just caught up with all the episodes so I can watch new eps as per the broadcast time.

Finally caught up on all the eps over the weekend. The entire cast is really good. The leads are good and they are supplemented by some amazing supporting actors. The entire ensemble is great. Brings a very natural feel to the show.

Even I didn't find the promo that interesting. Plus they were dealing with a mature/sensitive subject and I didn't think they would handle it well (coz of majority of contemporary hindi shows) but man, was I wrong.

I love everything about the show. The supporting cast are not just some 1 dimensional caricature. They have their own personalities and struggles. I liked how they showed the reaction of all 3 moms (Hated the way the characters reacted but liked the subtle diff of the reaction based on how each character was written). Same goes for the other characters.

I like AmBeer but I don't want (and I don't think) Amla to be developing any soft corners yet for Abeer. From her pov it would go against her character coz we as audience know the truth but she doesn't. I am pretty interested to see how the writers make this relationship. It's complicated and very diff from the hordes of ML/FL stories.

I also started following this show recently. Haven't watched Fatmagul too.
As a woman sometimes feel outraged at the scenes (esp mother's of the 3 villian's) ... But then when I think back I feel that they too are helpless to a major extent (as they are not strong enough).

This show is not just about the girls story of coping with the aftermath of rape but I hope also the story of these mother's coping with the disappointment with their sons.
