Another comeback on Nimmo...
Radhika of Wagle Ki Duniya to play Kantaben in Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka

Years ago, Bharti Achrekar played the dominating wife of a simple man called Wagle and hit it off with the audiences instantly. She has done several roles after that, played various characters; but none became as popular as Radhika Wagle.
Now, Achrekar is back to play Kantaben in Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka. "Kantaben has lived and grown up with Nimmo's mother (Sujata Mehta) and moves with her to her marital home," says Achrekar. "She is an integral part of the house and is very close to the family."
However, what's most striking about the character are the eccentricities of Kantaben. Achrekar adds, "Kantaben loves to party, she is blunt when it comes to expressing opinions."
Why does one see so little of Achrekar on the small screen? "I would have loved to do a lot of work, but unfortunately, I wasn't offered good roles," she says. "The length of the role doesn't matter to me, the quality definitely does. And I can't go around asking for work. I have been in the industry for three decades. People have seen me and know my skills; if they like my acting they can call me. Also, if the serials are not on mainstream channels, then visibility gets affected. I had done Teri Bhi Chup Meri Bhi Chup on Elle TV, Don't Worry Ho Jayega on Sahara One and Mevalal on Doordarshan, which people may not know about."
Achrekar is still recalled as Radhika of Wagle Ki Duniya, even after twenty years. She laughs, "I have done many serials after Wagle Ki Duniya, like, Main Na Kehti Thi on Star Plus, Tauba Meri Tauba and Knock Knock Kaun Hai on Zee TV. I wonder why people remember me as Radhika, when the fact is that I have played this character only for 19 episodes. It surprises me."
