I know that some are wondering why I have created this thread. The reason is because I have been so very disappointed in Rahul and the way the creatives, the writers have presented him lately, which has resulted in that I have posted a lot of negative replies about him. The truth is that I am more disappointed in myself for not realizing my mistake. I was rewatching the episodes following Naina's death yesterday. I no longer feel that Rahul has been disappointing - even when he pushed Kakun away, even when he lied to her.

First, I was really upset with the creatives, the writers, because I felt that they made Rahul weaker and also pathetic in every imaginable way, however, now my view has changed. Call it an epiphany or whatever, but yesterday I realized that in my disappointment, I had overlooked something very important:
Aamir Ali's brilliant acting.
Yes, it was completely insensible that he accepted Naina's murder as committed by him. Yes, there were tons of mistakes and holes in the story following her death. But I feel that thanks to Aamir's amazing and completely convincing acting - I can ignore those mistakes and understand Rahul.
I think that the reason Rahul wanted to stay in prison is because he couldn't bear to be free and not have Kakun. He would rather spend his lifetime in prison, and only have her memories than return to the Punj House and watch her with Aman. Because no matter how much you love someone and want them to be happy, you can't bear to see your love with someone else than you. Rahul was desperate to stay in prison, not because of Kakun's happiness, because how could she be happy, knowing that her love was locked up for a crime he hadn't committed - no, he wanted to stay in prison, because of himself.
Before condemning Rahul's character completely, I should have rewatched the earlier episodes calmly. Now that I have, I understand that Rahul has not turned weaker in character, but stronger in some areas. He seems somehow in control of himself, restless indeed, but in control and compelling. Considering the lame dialogues that he was given at times, considering the lack of sense in his character, thanks to Aamir's acting, it turned out all convincing and I have sort of forgiven the writers.
Yes, there are still many things about him that I find insensible and alien, also I am not saying that merely because of Aamir's brilliant acting, I am just going to overlook mistakes from now on - but, I do understand Rahul more now than I did before, I can define his feelings, his thoughts, not from his dialogues, but from Aamir's acting and expressions.
Thanks to Aamir's convincing and powerful acting, he nailed every scene despite the lack of sense in the dialogues at times.
Let me be honest, the Powers That Be (the creatives), are making another huge mistake since they intend to go through with the Rahul-Naina pairing, but I just wanted to compliment Aamir for becoming one with his character and giving the fans what they want, what they needed from Rahul. At least in my case. And as for the writers plus PTB, you have done an incredible job with the show - please, don't let us down now.
That's all I needed to say 😊

aamir's acting is fabulous. out of the recent scenes, the one where he yells inside the jail is performed briliiantly by him. aamir makes even a half-baked character like rahul likeable. rahul is half-baked and faulty. sometimes i feel aamir is just plain unlucky to have got a inconstant and 'not well sketched' character like rahul to play but still he did complete justice to what ever the creatives/writers gave him. he is a very good actor and there is no doubt abt it. he does his job very well. 👏

now coming to rahul--- i love aamir and i love his acting but i will not be defending 'rahul the character' if he does something wrong. i also like mridul's acting but i dont support aman's actions. i love aamir but i am not in love with rahul (credit goes to the writers and ekta) but yes i will defend and support him when i will feel he is not wrong and his actions make sense. (i did that couple of weeks ago)

i feel rahul is a lot more sensible now than compared to the earlies episodes. he might not be likeable now compared to those days (for obvious reasons) but i admire the fact that he is valuing the relationships he shares with everyone and is more caring towards everyone in family. he is not the annoying brat now. (that phase might be enjoyable for some but it was a turn-off for me --esp doing whatever n.bhasin wanted him to do and all that land issue) now he doesnt blindly follow anyone but uses his own logic (which might not seem right always but atleast he is not a parasite anymore) i like the current rahul.

anyway kudos to aamir for his awesome acting 👏

the change in rahul started long before now-in the u.k we r seeing the beginning of the change more concerned abt kk, less defending of nainab, this actually shouldve continued-remember whn he and nainab r doing the hotel projesct for nani-he says wht would kk do? and the answer is if the staff r happy then the guest will be. so the change had started.

however ekta and co instead giving this time to develop jumped straight into rahul the crazy, jealous lover-which though i loved made no sense.

but now we see the continuation of the rahul that began earlier; learning that putting others before oneself, to give rather then receive fulfill one with greater happiness.

rahul can live with the pain of losing wht he truly loved cause he believes:
1.-after all the pain he gave kk she deserves happiness and believes that aman will be far better at providing it, for he has always seen the truth in kk and valued, then he himself.

2.- he also loves his older bro aman and sees that aman happiness is in kk. as ive mentioned in another thread, i believe gayo and rahul also feel guilty for wht aman went through and without the support of his family. as far as hes concerned aman did everything possible to look after kk and to keep him out of jail so he 'owes' aman-then how can he take away his love?! and know we find out that aman has a drink problem adding to him, rahul, doing wht ever he can to keep kk with aman.

maybe thats y rahul is not noticing the problems between aman and kk- he feels guilty enough for loving kk, for as he sees it messing up her life and that he 'owes' aman for looking out for kk supporting her and marrying her whn he put her in that situation. also guilty for loving his brother wife.

i hated the hug moment on the terrace i thought it showed only kk emotions however after watching it a zillion times thanks to RaKun17 for making my vid, i agree that aamir is a really good actor. u see his pain and that he doesnt know wht to do- kk is in his arms and battle is to hold her tightly and never let her go but u see the more mature side that thinks 1st then acts.

Kakun changed him. It was her love, in order to keep that love, which made him desperate and harsh. Why, as we would probably all do, when we're about to lose something precious to us, we try to hold on to it with everything that we've got. Claws, emotions, the whole nine yards. We just don't want to lose it. I understand that the reason Rahul became so "crazy in love" was because he feared that he was losing Kakun. And he was absolutely right.
I think that Rahul feels obliged to love Aman as he is Rahul's brother. If there was no blood-relation, then I believe that they would have been enemies. Bebe mentioned once that they were fighting like Karan-Arjun. Now that is not a light comparison, so I think that they have some serious issues, regardless. Yes, Rahul does feel guilty about Aman, but I also think that deep down Rahul is bitter. Because, regardless of Aman being in love with Kakun, Rahul was there first. Aman told Rahul that he wanted to see the two people on the alter, who deserved to be married - yeah, he was talking about himself and Kakun, but Rahul doesn't know that. All he knows is that Aman wanted to help Rahul marry Kakun, but instead Aman married her himself. In addition to their earlier competitive issues among others - I think - this only makes Rahul feel more bitter with Aman. That he hides it, or suppresses it - that's something else. But it definitely surfaced when he was yelling at Kakun in prison.
Yes, maybe Rahul really does love his brother, but maybe it is just another bond, which has no meaning. What is a brother? Is it blood? Is it the bond between hearts? Because, yeah, I do see the blood-relation between Aman and Rahul, but I see no bond. I only see guilt, bitterness and duty. But that's just me 😛

seriously i don't agree with the concept of this story ,if rahul was married to kk than he can fight 4 her as the marriage aman & kk is illegal .further more they have introduced a lawyer .which is unnessaery .again one brother is culprit and another one is accused........................ i don't really understand there is nothing that rahul is doing even kk knows the truth but she is also not doin anything . they r just wastin money n time what say guys?

The whole Aman-Kakun marriage should not have happened in the first place. If the PTB wanted to make Aman bad, they could have done that gradually even without him being married to Kakun. In my opinion, it would have been much more interesting to see Rahul arrested for trying to kill Naina, and Naina instead of dying had ended up in a deep coma. It would have been much more interesting to watch Rahul struggle to get out of prison in order to find the one who had tried to kill her, and to be with Kakun. Then they could have shown Aman poisoning Kakun's mind in order to make her hate Rahul, and Rahul could have been desperate to convince Kakun of his innocence. It would have made more sense, because every time that Kakun trusted Rahul, he betrayed her trust. So why not this time, too?
I still think that instead of Kakun finding out about Aman's true nature, it should have been Rahul, who was the one to find out about his brother.
Regardless. I, too, think that the whole concept of this story has been lost. No offense to Naina Oberoi-fans, but I don't see the need for her character on the show, I don't see her importance, and I would feel exactly the same way if Naina Oberoi had been a man instead of a woman. It has nothing to do with her as a person in real life nor on the show, but for me it's a waste of time and energy, the time and energy which could have been spent on developing Devi's character, developing some of the other characters and relationships. Just my opinion.

i agree with elysia u remember whn aman went missing kk blamed rahul straight away didnt believe him whn he said he didnt do anything. she said if anything happend to aman shed never forgive rahul and not till aman came and said wht happened that kk realised she was wrong.
for all the love kk has for rahul shes not been able to trust him for he has betrayed her time and again and aman has always supported her.
just before aman and kk got married it couldve stoped with someone screming everyone couldve rushed and seen rahul with nainab. kk would most likely believe that rahul had tried to murder nainab for she knew he didnt want to marry her and was trying to get kk back.
aman wouldve been her support again and though he would defend rahul kk would accept it cause aman can do o wrong in her eyes, this we actually saw.
the one thing that annoys me the most is the fact the women have always got to be strong and take the lead. rahul has never taken the lead always playing catch-up. instead directing the action as kk has done hes ends playing to the circumstanses someone else has made.
id like to see change this around and start to dictate terms more; before mentioning he dictated to kk to marry then he will remember she 1st dictated the terms and his terms were in ref. to hers.
it had to be kk who found out abt aman and has to live with it how much better wouldve it been that rahul found out the truth abt aman, that he killed savarti and nainab but unable to convince anyone especially kk of it? y not bring nainao as savarti sis or friend wanting revenge on aman so joins up with rahul and backdrop of all this will be aman and kk wedding. now that wouldve got us all hooked!
it also a far more convincing storyline kdmh, another triangle but this time kk in the middle, u still couldve had pretti fake pregenancy and tanu which could bought rahul and kk together, making her realise against wht she knows that she still has feelings for rahul. we'd see aman neg but in a much better way that fits in with his character. nainao has much better storyline then just another girl falling for rahul and we see a woman seeking revenge and she will be the opposite of aman-a lawyer and just as cunning as him, turning that tables on him. like a game of chess u could still have the rahul-nainao love interest, but a fake interest as away of getting nainao into the house and family also making kk jealous!
wow how amazing a storyline! sorry for blowing my own trumpet but oh heck i cant believe those twerps cant do something like this whts taken us less then a hour! man talks abt desparing that'll they-the beenies will ever remember wht kdmh was abt😭

Yup, straight in the bull's eye, Shasha. Well said.
Naina's character could have been made more interesting. For instance, like you said, she and Swarti are sisters, and she is merely using Rahul to enter the Punj House in order to have her revenge. The PTB are good at making episodes, no doubt, but they made one huge mistake with Naina, which still bugs me:
Her disloyalty to her client, Devi.
When Aman called her following the scene in which he admitted to Kakun that he had murdered her sister, he asked Naina to come over at their party, and she agreed. I found that greatly disloyal to Devi as just few hours ago, Devi was yelling at her for losing the case on purpose. How could Naina not feel guilty for going to the Punj party on the same day that her client lost the case, which was against the Punj family? If Naina was the least bit best as she continues to tell herself, then she would feel obliged to continue researching Naina Bhasin's case in order to find the real killer, so that she could keep her promise to Devi. Loyalty or curiosity, or simply because, like she said herself, she especially hates crimes committed in passion.
I don't see her worrying about the real killer, and I don't see her trying to speak to Devi and explain to her, why she didn't fight the case against Rahul. I think that Devi has calmed down enough to listen, if Naina should turn up at her door, giving her the answers that she deserves. Yes, I do feel that Kakun and/or Rahul should be the ones to put Aman in prison, to fight against him - but Naina Oberoi can at least be interested in doing her job efficiently?

thats the problem with the non-creatives they start something but dont follow through- nainao came in with all guns blazing!
she was this tough strong no-excuses lawyer-who didnt believe in love and kept her work andpersonal lives seperate. i dont mind the change in her but its just happened way to quickly.
a lot of mileage couldve been got out of nainao and how she changed it wouldve given her character so much more depth and sanjeeda a role to get into. however no y should the beenies do that-fling the story out of the window and lets give rahul another love interest as the poor boy must be sooooooooooo very lonesome!
the whole nainao-devi is not only betrayal on the personal side but also of the professional side-balaji just show that women cannot be professional. all the women are made to look emotional and cant seem to use their brains if they are good but if they are neg then the brain is used for the demise of others.
take rahul at no time were we made to feel that wht he did was wrong-he had all the excuses and he re-deemed himself not by confessing his wrong doing and kk was innocent of all charges but by falling inlove with kk. however that was not possible for nainab-she made to be neg all the way through her love for rahul was seen as selfish and spoilt and whn she had the chance to re-deem heself she was killed and so no one got to see it, especially those that it meant most too; devi and kk. devi still doesnt know that nainab knew the truth abt to kk and accepted her which wouldve healed devi heart that her daughters were no longer enemies and kk finds out but can do nothing abt it to make amends.
im not sure wht ekta is tryint to show in her dramas but it does reinforce sterotypes of women as being one thing or the other and not a combination both.
