You're fired, guys!

Four actors have been thrown out of Kumkum. Now a new lot will play the third generation

RANJIB MAZUMDER AND KAVITA SHYAM

Bag Films is on a mass-sacking spree. The four kids who were playing the new generation of BAG films' Kumkum has been sacked from the show. Vivan Bathena, Gaurav Khanna, Nikita Thukral and Megha Gupta who played the new generation in the show are no longer part of it. They have been replaced by Vishal Vatwani, Amit Khanna, Nikita Thukral and Megha Gupta respectively.
According to a source from the production house, "All the four actors were very punctual when the new generation kicked off. But gradually they forgot that they should report to work on time. They all started off with the show to get the desired platform and soon they started getting more offers.
Since all of them did not want to continue with the show, they started showing attitude. Their attitude threw the schedule out of gear. Finally, the production house just decided to replace all of them. They felt that fresh faces would be a good change and it would be easier to work with."
When contacted, Karishma Grover, creative head of the show confirmed the news. "Yes, all four of them have been replaced. But, I won't be able to divulge more," she said.
We spoke to the sacked actors and they all chose to be diplomatic. Vivan Bhatena, who played Dhruv, said, "I have started shooting for Chhoona Hai Aasmaan along with Maayka. So, doing the third show, Kumkum is a big hassle. I wanted to move ahead and do something else, a stronger role. If I could not do justice to my role there was no point continuing with the show. I did the show for a long time and requested the production house to help in my transition. I was out of the country and heard that the other actors were also changed." Vivan has been replaced by Vishal Vatwani.
Gaurav Khanna, who played Sharman, admitted that they were replaced because they were busy doing another show. He said, "I am playing a lead in another show so it was tough on both, the production house and me. My priority shifted as I was playing the lead. They are big producers so they know best. We tried our level best to adjust the dates but it wasn't working out." Gaurav is currently doing Meri Doli Tere Angana on Zee TV and has been replaced by Amit Khanna.
Nikita Thukral, who played Sia, said that it was a "mutual decision as I was busy doing a south film and dates were clashing badly." She is currently doing the remake of Don in south opposite Nagarjuna and has been replaced by Snigdha Srivastava.
Megha Gupta, who played Niti was not happy with her character going negative and she grabbed a meaty role in CID. She says, "Not that I am apprehensive about playing a negative role but I told them that they should consider replacing me. The replacement would work in their favor and help all of us." She is currently working in CID and has been replaced by Ira Soni.

well who knows if they were showing attitude or not but honestly speaking, you cant blame them for shifting priorities.........they were majorly being sidelined.....and if you have another show where you're a lead, naturally, you'll be paying more attention towards it.......vivan wanted to leave and he did it in a good way and even megha decided to quit.......but who knows about gaurav and nikita......i cant imagine gaurav showing attitude though......he was balancing between two shows......but its weird to read such contradictory stuff from gaurav's end in the tellybuzz article and in this article......naina

I think Gaurav is like Hussain and Juhi would balance his dates well, I doubt punctuality was the reason. otherwise he would have said tata bye bye long time.

Anyway kumkum has been everyones lucky mascot so maybe something waiting in the wings for him

Will the new actors guarantee punctuality needs to be seen.

I agree with you, Naina..

Moreover..what is BAG now complaining about and accusing them of throwing tantrums?! When these actors were free, they were sidelined in the story.. And now, that they have work outside BAG, they want to give them tracks?? Date problems toh honge hi! 😡

Vivan started Maayka around March...whereas Gaurav started with MDTA in May - usse pehle, when BAG had these actors' free dates, they preferred to play around with the Mahesh-Mishri-Nivi track... Woh khatam hua, ek umeed thi ki the youngsters will get their moments.. but no, woh bhi gaya! 😡

Speaking of Gaurav.. in both articles he said he had date problems.. but in Telly Buzz he said 'nothing that could not have been sorted out'.. Who knows if he was given a chance to sort out his date problems in the first place!!
