You've been away for months. Was your comeback in Kumkum planned?

It probably was planned by the serial makers but I wasn't aware of
it. It came as a surprise to me.

So Renuka (her character in Kumkum) is back to trouble the Wadhwa
family...

No. Renuka is not a troublemaker but somebody who feels she was
wronged because the man she loved married another person. It's her
way of getting him back and seeking justice.

Isn't your other character Mohini in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
also constantly plotting and plan ning against the Virani family?

Mohini is a sweetheart! I love that character. She is constantly
plotting against the Viranis because she's a selfish girl. She is
materialistic.

Don't you want to break free from vamp roles?

I really really want to break free from them. I started with positive
roles and did them for three years. In fact the first time I was
offered a negative role I thought I wouldn't be able to do it. But
the creative director Sharad Raj convinced me to take it up as a
challenge.

What's the response you get from people to your vampish roles?

I get different responses. People seem to enjoy Mohini's character.
But they hate Renuka. Sometime ago, I had a woman who ran after me to
hit me with her chappal! My father used to get calls from people
asking him to tell me to turn positive in my serials. But, I must say
that negative characters are popular among people. Evil always stands
out in any show.

hehe i hav also read sumwhere about that chappal wali baat! 😆hehehe seriously guys that woman wud be mad about su-kk!!!!😉😉😆! poor tasneem!!!!😳
