Tasnim back in ’Kumkum’!

Remember the shrewd, scheming manupulating dame in Star Plus' Kumkum? Renuka, the character played by Tasnim Sheikh, is back with a vengence in the show.

"Yes, I am back in Kumkum, and the track is still negative. I have always enjoyed playing Renuka since it is an interesting character," says Tasnim, who plays Mohini in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi.

Vamps on Indian television seem to be on a roll. Machinisations of evil minds drive the TRPs of most shows. Renuka, one of the leading ladies in the department of devilry is back in the show to torment Kumkum and win back her love, Sumit. Although winning back Sumit has been an obsession with Renuka for quite some time, but all her efforts till now proved in vain -- but as is true with all vamps on the telly, she refuses to give up!

We ask Tasnim why she is doing so many negative roles, she is quick to point out, "Both the characters (Mohini and Renuka) are very different from one another. While Mohini is a 'selfish bitch,' Renuka has a reason behind her madness."

Renuka, who plans to marry by next year, is yearning for a positive role."I don't know why I keep getting negative roles. I want to tell all my producers to give me positive roles. You know people now forget that I started my career with positive roles," says Tasnim with a laugh.

Would Tasnim go to any extent to win back her love, like Renuka? "No, I am very different from Renuka in real life. I firmly believe that if a person is your's for keeps than no one can take him away from you, if he goes away, then he was never your's in the first place!" says Tasnim with a conviction that comes with a confidence in being in a relationship that is high on trust.Tasnim has just bought a new house for her parents...it was a surprise gift! Whatever might be her on screen persona, in real life this lady really rocks!
