Part 13

It's been a few weeks since Sumit and Kumkum confessed their feelings to each other, they literally spend every minute of every day together leaving the girls, Rach, Anku and Eks to themselves. Although the biggest obstacle of confessing has disappeared Sumit and Kumkum still face the tough task of convincing their parents that their partner is the one for them, the pair are sitting in the cafe looking dull

K - kya kar sakte hai? mere papa tho tumhe dhekte hi tumhe mar dalenge

S - really? lekin maine pehle mom ko tumhare baare mein bataya tha, voh tab tho khush thi lekin ab.....kuch samaj mein nahin ah raha

K - mujhe lagta hai ke humhare parents ko batane ke liye......humhe ek dossre ke ghar chalna chahiye

S - aur agar voh tab nahin maane?

K - fhir hum tab soch lenge.....chalo main tumhare ghar chalti hoon aur tum mere ghar

S - teek hai

Sumit and Kumkum leave the cafe and go to the other person's house, lets see what happens when Kumkum reaches the Whadwa House......she knocks on the door and the house servant Methi Chacha opens the door

MC - ji aap?

K - main....Kumkum, kya Mr aur Mrs Whadwa ghar par hai?

MC - ji aayie

Kumkum follows him into the house, she waits in the hallway as he goes to get Veena and Kul. She waits there until she hears a voice

V - tum kaun ho?

Kumkum turns around to face Veena, she folds her hands

K - namaste aunty

V - namaste.....tum?

K - ji mra naam Kumkum hai

V - Kumkum.....acha tum vahi larki ho jis se Sumit....

Kumkum blushes, she takes Veena's blessings and sits down with her

K - aunty voh...main yahan aapko aur uncle ko milne aayi thi....voh Sumit ko pata nahin tha kaise.....voh aapko bataye humhare baare mein.....

V - acha koi baat nahin....lo Sumit ke papa bhi aa gaye

Kumkum stands up and takes his blessings, he sits down opposite them

Ku - yeh kaun hai?

V - yeh...Kumkum.....yeh aur Sumit ek dossre ko bohat chahte hai, Sumit ko pata nahin tha kaise batayein isliye isse bhej diya

Ku - acha? Sumit kahan hai?K - uncle voh mere ghar gaya hai....mere mummy aur papa se baat karne ke liye

Ku - acha

Kul puts his hand on Kumkum's head

Ku - agar yeh dono khush hai tho hum bhi khush lekin jab tab tumhare ghar se haan nahin aate hum baat ko aage nahin barayenge acha beta

K - ji uncle.....main jaoon?

V - aise kaise ja sakti ho, pehle Sumit ke dada ji aur dadima se mil lo

Kumkum agrees and meets Dada and Dadi, they give her their blessings and accept her as part of the family...all is going well on this end but on the other side.....Sumit reaches the Sharma household, he rings the door bell and Kumkum's mom Naina (played by Prachi Shah) opens the door

N - tum aa gaye? kitni dher laga thi tumne, ab yahan khare kyun ho? aao aur fuse fix karo

Sumit stands there with a confused look on his face, he realises Naina has mistaken him as someone else

S - nahin main voh....

N - kya nahin? electric company ne tumhe hi bheja hai tho aao, koi bahana mat banao varna tumhe paise nahin milege

Naina literally pulls Sumit inside and takes him to the fusebox, Sumit looks at her then looks at the fuse wondering what to do

N - mera moon kyun dhek rahe ho? jaldi kaam karo aur dafa ho jao!

Naina leaves the room, Sumit sighs and fixes the fuse, the lights come on and Naina comes back

N - good ab yeh lo paise aur jao yahan se

S - lekin....main yeh paise?

N - haan kya hua? lo paise

S - lekin aunty main electric company se aaya hi nahin!

N - kya?

S - kabse batane ki koshish kar raha ha....main yahan aapse aur uncle se milne aaya tha.....aur aapne mujhe fuse fix karne par laga diya....main kya karta

Naina smiles

N - sorry beta voh mujhe laga...kher aao mere saath

Sumit follows Naina into the living room, he sits down while Naina brings him a glass of juice, he drinks it and faces her

S - uncle kahan hai?

N - voh kuch kaam ke liye bahar gaye hai, tho kya baat karne aaye the tum?

S - jo baat mujhe kehni thi voh aapke aur uncle ko batani thi lekin uncle yahan nahin ho aap se hi keh deta hoon

N - bolo?

S - aunty main voh.....voh main.....voh

N - voh main voh main? voh kya?

S - auntymainaapkibetisepyaarkartahoon

Naina looks at him weirdly

N - kya kaha? dheere bolo?

Sumit sighs and closes his eyes

S - aunty...main aapki beti Kumkum se pyaar karta hoon aur yahan aapki aur uncle ki permission lene aaya tha

Naina looks at him shockedly

S - aap meri baat samaj rahi ho na?

Naina nods her head slowly

S - tho aapko koi aitraaz nahin hai?

Naina comes out of her trance

N - lekin yeh kab? aur kaise?

Sumit narrates how he and Kumkum met and how they liked each other and that they confessed their feelings on Holi, Naina smiles

N - mujhe koi aitraaz nahin hai lekin Kumkum ke papa....unka tho main kuch keh nahin sakti

S - aap unse baat tho kar sakte hai na?

N - Kumkum kahan hai?

S - voh mere ghar gayi hai.....mere family se milne

Just as Sumit stops speaking the door opens and Kumkum comes smiling inside, she looks at them and frowns

N - tumne bataya kyun nahin?

K - voh mom....main batane vali thi lekin Sumit ne kaha ke voh aapse baat karega.....aap naraz tho nahin hai?

Naina stands up and hugs Kumkum

N - nahin lekin tumhare papa se kaun baat karega?

K - easy......Rach, Anku aur Eks.....papa unki baat bohat maante hai, tho voh unke naa nahin kahenge

S - I hope you're right

K - chalo unhe bata the hai....mom main abhi aati hoon

Sumit stands up, he takes Naina's blessings and leaves with Kumkum to convince the girls to talk to Kumkum's dad Raj, they find them at the cafe, they narrate what happened and the girls look at them

girls - no

K - kyun nahin?

A - come on Kumkum...Raj uncle humpe barosa karte hai

K - isliye tho keh rahi hoon!

E - haan lekin agar hum uncle ko yeh sab kahe aur voh maane nahin tho voh humpe bhi naraz ho jayenge

S - lekin tum koshish tho kar sakte ho na? please

Sumit and Kumkum look at them pleadingly

R - hum koshish karte hai lekin koi promises nahin

K - thank you so much!

Kumkum hugs all three of them

K - tho ghar chalte hai....aur tum ppa se baat karlena

The girls get up and leave, Sumit tells them he is staying as he has to work but tells Kumkum to inform him about everything, Kumkum agrees and leaves, they reach the Sharma Household and the girls go inside

K - main apne room mein chalti hoon, tum papa se baat karo

Kumkum runs upstairs to her room, the other girls look at each other and make their was into the living room where Raj (played by Monish Behl) was watching tv

Ra - arre aao tum theeno, beto yahan

The girls sit down, Raj senses them looking at him and turns the tv off and looks at them

Ra - kya hua? tum sab mujhe aise kyun dhek rahe ho?

A - uncle voh....

Ra - bolo

E - uncle voh hum aapse Kumkum ke baare mein baat karne aaye hai

Ra - kya kiya usne?

R - kuch nahin

Ra - tho?

The girls take it in turns to tell Raj everything

E - aur Sumit ek bohat hi acha larka hai

R - voh Kumkum ko bohat khush rakhega

A - aunty ne haan kar diya hai lekin aap.......

E - tho kya kayal hai aapka?

Raj looks at them

Ra - Kumkum ne kyun nahin bataya?

A - voh....darti thi kahin aap usse daat na do

Raj stands up

Ra - KUMKUM!

Kumkum comes downstairs and faces Raj with her head bowed

Ra - yeh jo keh rahi hai? kya voh sach hai? tum ek larke se pyaar karti ho?

K - .....ji

Raj looks at her angrily.......
