Hussain Kuwajerwala is back as host for the fifth season of Indian Idol. He will replace Prajakta Shukre as the host in the gala rounds.

Prajakta hosted auditions across the country along with Abhijeet Sawant. But now there's a change. Hussain will continue the show with Abhijeet. There's buzz that Abhijeet too may be replaced, but nothing official on that as yet.

Last we heard, Hussain was to supposed do a film, but that didn't take off. So we are not surprised the man decided to return to the small screen. After all, this medium has given him a lot and so has Indion Idol. Prajakta, meanwhile, must be disappointed, but that's the nature of the business. Besides, her contract with the channel was signed only for the initial rounds.

Hussain is replacement for a female host

Here is good news for all Hussain fans. He is back in the fifth season of Indian Idol as a host. He is replacing Prajakta Shukre in the gala rounds and will be co-hosting it with Abhijeet Sawant.

Shukre hosted auditions of this season that was conducted in various cities of India.There has also been a buzz that Sawant too may get replaced in the gala rounds but right now it is known that Shukre will not be part of the actual show. A source from the Indian Idol team reveals, "We always mentioned our team will observe how both Abhijeet and Prajakta will fare in the auditions and then we will decide whether to continue with them for studio rounds or not. However, we were not very impressed with Prajakta's performance. So Hussain will start shooting with us from tomorrow for gala rounds."

In the last season as well season three contestants Meiyang Chang and Deepali Kishore hosted auditions and then Hussain joined Chang in the studio rounds.

Ex-idol contestants Prajakta Shukre and Abhijeet Sawant will be the hosts of the audition phase for the fifth season of Sony's Indian Idol that starts from April 26th.

An Indya source told us that, "Hussain Kuwajerwala who is very popular as host, will now be brought in to host Indian Idol from the studio rounds, along with Abhijeet Sawant. He will be starting shoot from tomorrow. He was a part of the Indian Idol and we all are happy that he is back in the show."

Hussain Kuwajerwala's spokesperson told us, "He is anchoring the gala-rounds of Indian Idol 5 and he has started shooting for the show."

Hussain told in an interview , "I am shooting now so I won't be able to talk but I am excited that I am back on TV and right now I can't comment more about it."

The show will start from April 26th and as per now, the time slot of the show has not been decided.
