New article with IV of actress who got selected for said role. Fact is Sriti & Drashti are quite expensive, pretty, experienced & popular actresses on TV, who are also known to be choosy about their roles.😳

I somehow feel & say it again after seeing two new promos of upcoming 9pm SP show Baatein & watching this actress previous soap BPKH on SB at 9.30om, this seems like miscasting & wrong styling case. Actress showing negligible vibe with actor Mohit who plays 40 years old male lead, nor has captivating screen presence of a prime time daily soap female lead, doubtful if she can carry off convincingly role of an unmarried 35 years woman who is bread earner of a family, she also has to show rhyming voice that can hook as an upcoming singer who gets trapped into love.🤔 Hope to be proven wrong with proper writing, styling, character design, performance & presentation.

Still wish all the best to Baatein, as SP channel has much better network & distribution outreach, good marketing teams, budgets and also since its a successful remake story from a top PH.

This basically is the tragedy of ITV nowadays.. well known PH shows are given prime slot no matter how their current shows are performing, and relatively small PH produced shows, no matter how well they are performing are shunted off air or aired at unpopular slots reducing the trps and eventual closure.. 😳

So the earlier article which Lav2725 shared wherein some actress was saying, doesn’t matter your talent.. if you are popular on social media, you will be considered for shows.. I would like to add to this.. that doesn’t matter whether small PH shows do well or not, they are always made subservient to big PH shows..

Casting a 24 yr old for a 35 yr old character may not go well. A good thing is they wanted someone with a Maharashtrian bg / accent, which will go well with the said actor. But the age gap b/w the actor and the character is something that will stand out - and the only reason I'll say its a miscast. But then we've seen ~30 yr actors playing ~20 yr old and makers seem not to care about it at all, even if it is jarringly odd.

General observation.

Any Indian language if we look from 1950's to 2020's whether films, stage shows, TV soaps or recent web its NOT unusual for older age actors/actresses cast for younger roles, also vice versa. Some click, some don't with audiences, not a big deal.

Its more about did they fit into the ball of a character, 😳can they change body language appropriately, modulate voice reasonably, have team efforts gone into styling, costume, makeup, hair to present them convincingly be it younger or older character than their real age? are they able to perform rightly, showcase some chemistry with their opposite lead or not?

Eg. 3 idiots movie, as young engineering college students version & later as working men in their 30's version, all three male lead actors looked & performed so convincingly, where as they were much older in real life when film was shot.👍🏼

Personally I don't much prefer age shaming actors/actresses, its about suitability, presentation & fitment. Noticing many people active on SM recent times keep trolling & shaming 😕 mainly older heroes when they are paired with younger heroines onscreen, as if its some newly recognized crime. 😆

Till few years as normal TV viewers most of us didn't have much insights into onscreen actors/actresses offscreen age, family, hobbies or real life happenings. 😊Social & digital media last few years are at forefront giving us more exposure, plus many actors/actresses themselves are upfront sharing their personal details, otherwise we won't even know.😛

About my earlier post on that IV which you responded, in the promos/pics seen so far that character Vandana played by Sayali actress in upcoming SP show isn't convincing when paired with Mohit who plays Kunal a 40 years rich man, as per story snippets. Unlike what's mentioned by actress in the article, I see not much team efforts in presenting her convincingly onscreen, as Vandana 35 years middle age unmarried sole bread winner, an upcoming singer.

Pics below hint, team just copied & presented her in same look as her previous show where she was 20's girl from a Kashmiri family also a single working mom Indu, to an abandoned child.😛

It’s such a loose article.. how can the actress ( I will call her SS) claim that Sriti and DD did their mock shoots and then suddenly she was selected above them? The channel wanted known faces.. and was to finalise both of them and then suddenly selected her?!.. 😳 🤔

Actresses will be given all details, they can’t suddenly say after the mock shoot, oh extremely sorry for the misunderstanding, we wanted a Maharashtrian girl for this role, you people being (Bihari and I assume DD is a Gujarati) cannot play this role! I mean.. it sounds so immature and unprofessional. And Rajan Shahi’s PH isn’t an immature 2yr PH which was founded yesterday.. 🤪 what does SS think the audience are?! Fools to believe every word she says? God!

Not interested in the progress of the show or what happens to it. Good that SJ wasn’t selected and/or rejected it. 😳
