Given her character, it makes sense. She only started considering him as a friend only during MMS track. While Ranbir was already madly in love with her then. And then through Maya's track it's like she considers Ranbir her closest friend but to show her falling for him it'd take time. She hasn't even had a proper personal conversation with him that didn't involve planning or scheming. The only personal thing she ever told him was that she never saw her father. And that was in the kidnapping track which they brushed it off. And she does think about him more but there's more important things to worry about now so she doesn't bother dwelling much. Also even if she does fall for him,she wouldn't really accept it as easily or tell him especially after how pallavi asked her to stay away from Ranbir.
