Week 35 - 26th July 2017 to 01st Sep 2017.

There is some drop in impressions in all three charts.

KKB tops the Overall charts for the second week.


BARC TRP Overall Rank - #1 Position

BARC TRP Urban Rank - #3 Position



Comparing Impressions from last week :

Overall - 219 (Drop)
Urban - 209 (Drop)
Rural - 010 (Drop)


Week 34 - Highlights :
  • Sangram singh threatens to kill Abhi, but Munni stops him and assures that she will bring Disha if he leaves Abhi.
  • Sangram and Disha wedding rituals started, but Munni managed to stop the marriage and saved everyone.
  • Aaliya blasts Munni and held her as main responsible for Purab's marriage happenning.
  • Abhi asks Munni to get married again, Pragya wakes up from Coma.
  • Abhi and Munni marriage stopped due to Ghatbandhan catches fire.
  • Pragya gets scared and immediately wants to go home to see Abhi, and Doctor assures that she will take her to Mumbai.

Despite that 28th Aug dated misleading KKB promo of Pragya coming back to Abhi, KBC during its launch week on Sony TV at same 9pm slot Mon-Fri still managed a grand entry into urban top 5 charts also crossing KKB impressions.. 👏 KBC may stabilize much more in coming weeks with some good contestants, also this year being a limited edition season may be beneficial for it to enter into overall top 5 chart as well..

I follow KBC, Saregamapa and KKB closely, ironical all of them air at 9pm slot.😊 But this is the first time Saregama Pa Lil champs is out of top 5 in urban chart and got low impressions even in overall chart director needs to start focusing more on music, contestants, competition and less on movie promotions and actors coming in as guests 😔 also if they open up public voting for eliminations they can still beat their competition Fear factor before this musical show comes to an end..



Coming to KKB, last week Thurs/Fri KKB episodes have let down many viewers after having to watch Abhi-Munni pheras at mandap while lady of the show Pragya was away. Then that GC special episode aired on Sat with Abhi-Munni flirting with KDB focus was like putting salt on wounds.. So I feel despite Pragya's return to Mumbai shown in the current week, it may not highly increase impressions as overall mood of the show is gloomy and unexciting.. 🤔 So suspecting a new misleading KKB promo to get released within a day or two.


Now after several months in 2017, Sony TV has beaten Zee TV in its market share, this should ring alarm bells to Zee as Colors already went on to secure its top position with its new successful weekend shows. And even after KBC ends Sony is ready to come up with few brand new high ticket shows in Oct. 😳

Zee TV is at position3 whereas Sony is at 6.. any reason for your statement LA?

LA stated the Urban impressions... In that Zee tv at No.4 and Sony at No.3...

Ad sponsors are considers only Urban impressions... Channels have to perform better in Urban areas...

Then how about ads for channels like Zee Anmol which have only repeat shows and mostly topping charts in Rural only?

Yes.. They too get ads but the cost of those ads seems to be very low when it compared to urban... They don't get ad revenues high even if they tops in rural charts...

I still dont get the logic behind what you mentioned.. is there some article which speaks of this?

i want to know...can someone clear this query in my head
none of SP shows are ruling the charts anyways in the top 5 arena...of course YRKKH...it has seen a drop too...so does YHM...why is that channel is No 1...when Colors or Zee deserves that spot...

Nope.. both in urban and overall charts SP is now way behind colors which is now no.1 channel, last 3-4 weeks colors has been giving tough competition to SP after struggling for few months in 2017, even Zee till last month was running close..😛


SP has majorly become negligent in its weekend programming during 2017, only Dance + is making them still survive. And in week day programming other than YRKKH nothing else could sustain in top 5. Also all their prime time shows in 2017 look more or less similar. Some times they focus more on same wedding functions, OTT grandeur in terms of sets and costumes with same feel in all their shows. Diverse Indian viewers look for shows with diverse concepts, looks and flavors, and they big time erred here.😳 Heard SP is now coming up with new shows before year ends including Great Indian Laughter challenge with Akshay Kumar..
