Hey Mits, Huts, thanks for your responses, I'm glad you feel you can understand her a little better Huts👍🏼
This is my response to my own question I guess 😳LONGGG ANSWER, caution has been given!

Yes she is selfless. Yes she is naive. Yes she easily forgives and puts others before her. Yes what she strives for doesn't always get accomplished.

But I like that she tries. Here is a girl that just wanted a normal married life with her husband out there, with no romantic fairy-tale-like expectations. Just a guy who was faithful to her and had a practical outlook to life. Which she thought she found in Varun and later in Suresh, but both turned her down for either greed or unreciprocated love. When Rockstar's rishta came around, she was shown to feel apprehensive throughout the process, even rejecting his proposal twice, once to her mom and then to Abhi himself. But due to the stress and pressure placed on her by her ailing mother, she decided to go ahead and give this relationship all she could.

Its weird, she was raised in a household full of women. She doesn't seem to have a father-figure in her house for an extensive period in her life. Yet, A LOT of emphasis is placed on being married in this family. Maybe its because of all the struggles Sarla faced as a single mother? Or RoDaadi seeing this family try to meet ends without her son being there for them? But yeah, until this recent track, they've placed GREAT emphasis on Rockstar and Pragya being the perfect bahu/wife to him. Maybe they were so focused on her not growing up living a lonely life and have Abhi has her companion in this journey called life that they overlooked priorities-like is this marriage really keeping Pragya better off? Initially it wasn't na?

Without talking much about other characters (trying to keep this Pragya-centric), day one, she followed her husband to where he might have left off to and she FOUND him in another woman's house. Would he have told her the truth the next morning had she not questioned him what the heck was going on? Maybe, maybe not. But it was her confrontation the next morning that led to her finding out what this marriage was actually about. And she decided to go home. And when she did, she saw her mom and her family FINALLY happy. Finally stress-free. Finally feeling less burdened about getting her married off. And rather than unleashing herself from this marriage and stressing everyone out again, she decided to battle it out and pretend she's okay.

And then we know everything that happens afterwards. Sure, she didn't tell Abhi about not being the girl that Purab loves. Like he didn't tell the rest of the world that he was faking a happy married life with her. And he didn't want her to tell anyone. He was petrified she'll tell someone.

She's never needed someone to love her to love someone. She has that big heart to look through a person's flaws and still see the goodness seeping through the cracks. She never needed him to tell her he loves her to love him back. She saw that there was humanity in a guy who tries to make life harder, and that was all she needed from him. Which is a stark difference from the Pragya at the start of the show, that wanted a practical life with her husband. I guess with time, her expectations fell and she was happy with whatever she was getting?

When she confessed she loved him, she didn't push him to love her back. Yes, not getting a single response to her confession did put her in a lot of confusion and apprehension about where this relationship was going, but she was very straightforward about not expecting a guaranteed yes from him. And she knew he felt awks about it. She was then told he loves her too TWICE, each time taking his confesion back, second time telling her to leave him alone. And then she found out Tanu's parents were the business partners from Lohri and that Tanu was pregnant. A girl that practically lives in their house 24/7 since the day she was married to Abhi, a girl that is purposely flaunted around in front of Pragya's face-how could Pragya NOT think Tanu was pregnant with Abhi's baby? Yet she still didn't believe it until a few pregnany tests at the clinic.

For the record, he has still never denied he could have been the baby daddy. He denied Tanu could possibly get pregnant. He never doubted she could be pregnant with anyone else. And he never told her he loves her, he told her to leave him alone that very morning, and she did what she was told-she backed off and to make him feel less awkward about her confession, she said it was just a joke (that was a dumb move, but I still understand why she did it).

And then she, with the help of him, tried to keep Tabhi baby a secret for as long as they could. In a phase where Abhi really got to find out how amazing she was and started getting really attached to her. Attached enough to propose to her. And she said no because she didn't want to come in the way of a baby's happiness. And no alternate choices were explained to her by anyone for her to give a second thought to this decision. She wasn't advised what else they could DO instead of breaking up. She wasn't told "Hey, you know what, I've broken up with Tanu, we'll battle for child custody but lets stay together."

She had an accident, no one could find out where she went/disappeared, until Daadi found her and decided she shouldn't tell Abhi anything and should come back as Mogambo. And she came back with a bang, said two dialogues, and everyone, including the spouse and the mom, believed her SO QUICKLY. Seriously? It took two lines from her for them to overlook the Pragya they knew for years (or in Sarlas case, since birth)?

Mogambo track is remembered for a lot of things, but what I remember it is as a time frame when she stood up and no longer took the bad guy's crap. She didn't STEAL anyone's property. She was given that transfer of power by the power of attorney herself, Daadi. She made the selfish Mehras eat what they had for Lunch at Dinner? She told them to clean their rooms, wash the dishes, make food, do the laundry and save some electricity? Wow, thats my house EVERYDAY. Should i be thinking my parents are selfish or a dictator? 😆 She made Abhi work harder at the office? Umm, good for him! She exposed Raj, made him realize he was on the dark side for no reason. She exposed Aalu many times in the track. She brought proofs against them several times-what can you do when the other side won't believe anything without proofs? And what can you do when they don't believe your proofs?

She wasn't all lovey-dovey and straight-forwardly loving to him, something that he was used to since she fell in love with him. Well good, because has she ever gottten a straight-forward, openly-loving spouse since day one that they got married? But did she complain? She still saw his goodness through the cracks and fell in love. She doesn't need reciprocated love to love someone. She was able to see through him. He wasn't. Otherwise, it was unbelievable that Sarla or others didn't realize she was Fuggy since the beginning.

She was expected to expose Tanu and Aalu and Nikhil. She was expected to keep the Aroras and the Mehras safe. She was expected to bring punishment to Aalu and yet be the nice bhabhi to Aalu and reform her into a good character as well. She was expected to be there for Abhi 24/7 and expected to bring out the truth to him. When she was accused of the most horrible of things, she stood there alone, no one backing her up. And that was okay. When she was dissed by the other lead, she was told by Daadi that its just his anger and she should go and MANAO him!! When she wanted to give up and just tell bae everything, proof or no proof, Daadi, who should have believed in bae the most, decided it was a bad idea and that he wont believe her. And brought whatever confidence Pragya had conjured up to a big fat zero.

In between, she was kidnapped, blamed, accused, whatnot. But it doesn't matter. Because she's supposed to be this robot who takes all the horrible things thats thrown her way in one ear and let it exit the other ear, without any change in her feelings or perspective. She can't make mistakes. Why can't she get the job done in the first try? Why isn't she trying harder? Why does she keep trying?

After all the expectations that are placed on her 24/7, I'm TOTALLY ENJOYING the passive Pragya in this track. She's so done with everything, I'm so done with her having to be the only character who is proactive in every darn thing that happens. When she was accused at the office, when she was accused for fraud at Tabhi's mehndi, when she was announced as being pregnant, when she was accused of having an affair with Purab, when Abhi announced Purab's engagement-SHE HAS ALWAYS SAID NO. Its sad that her no is not considered a no, since its either not loud enough or not said enough times. But she has denounced or disapproved each one of these claims that have been thrown her way even in this track. But if it doesn't matter what she says, why bother screaming it out loud? I like that she waits for Taaliyah's plan to stumble and fall on itself. She's realized, coming this far, that even if she stays fully quiet, she ends up winning at the end.

I'd rather have someone who tries than someone who doesn't try at all. And she's been someone who tries ALL THE TIME.

Do i miss Mogambo? Heck YES! But I loved her since the beginning. Yes, I miss the confidence, the attitude, the power that she exuded. And I miss the sarees the most. But for the time being, I'm okay with what she's doing right now. Going with the flow, letting Purab take charge and trusting her instincts. Not fighting or exposing Taaliyah, because she's been there, done that. Its ultimately not her responsibility to get Taaliyah exposed this time. Daadi and Daasi and the rest of the Mehras are fully capable of getting a house warrant against them. Or telling Abhi they are up to no good and never let them be around him. Her job, if anything, is to remind Abhi who SHE is in his life. Since no one else is doing that.

Am I biased for Pragya? Absolutely :) But this longgg essay/thesis was an explanation of why I'm like that.

Thank you for reading all of this, i'm not sure why you did, but THANK YOU! 🤗
