Pragya was explaining the situation and Tanu distracted Abhi by talling about Purab. It's logical that Purab could have simply said "No" and explained what actually happened but he did start better by saying "If supporting her, standing by her side when she needs me, wanting her happiness is love, then yes I love her". This need not be romantic and its not lie. You can say it to anyone close to you. I think he was fed up of Taliya's accusations and was like "Yes we hugged each other, we care for each other but not in the way you mentioned. Don't think dirty. "

And then we got Abhi slapping Purab. The whole story of Purab-Pragya meeting and falling in love came after that. Did Purab make up the story because of the slap because his statements before and after the slap were sort of disconnected. If he was going to accept that they are in love, he need not have started describing love at all. I still wish he could have said Nikita is my best friend. It's not like only Abhi could be best friends with a girl. Whatever Purab said in the beginning is applicable to best friends too. But anyway did the slap have any effect on Purab and he changed his mind at the last minute?

Interesting point Nivz! I found the whole epi uneven and disjointed, things didn't flow naturally. Purab started out in a way I didn't expect, it sounded like he was going to defend the relationship between him and Pragya and righteously point out that it didn't have to be a romantic relationship for him to take care of her. But whatever he was building with those amazing dialogues just completely collapsed when he made up the story about the affair and starting to feel pyaar...maybe Abhi's slap was in fact a turning point for Purab? I don't want to give the writers that much credit for thinking subtlety, but it's a good explanation that soothes my mind. Maybe out of frustration he made a snap choice. Maybe out of disillusionment he took a wild risk. Purab wants what's best for Abhi and Pragya both...whatever he did, whatever his reason, his intention was not to be destructive...so will be interested to see where it goes.

Hi Nivz! My take is that yes, he said a very conditional loving statement; "If A and B and C means love, then yes. I love her." Not IN LOVE with her. He loves her.

Abhi promised that if she tells him this is a lie, he'll fight with her and she need not say anything more. She said its a lie, Purab was questioned whether he loves her. He made the conditional statement above. And Abhi slapped him.

ON WHAT BASIS? A guy marrying another girl slaps his single best friend for possibly loving his single secretary-come-best friend? Why? Why does it matter to him? He's moving on with Tanu, so shouldn't he be happy that Purab and Pragya, two people he likes, like each other?

He slapped him for not telling him about the Purgya affair? Did Abhi tell Purab about proposing to Tanu and announcing their relationship to the media beforehand? Nahi? So should Purab have slapped Abhi for not teling him of such big decisions? I think that whole hypocrisy from Abhi and the fact that though Abhi promised to stand by Pragya in the beginning of the episode yet very quickly took Purab's words as "romantically inclined" to Pragya made Purab angry. And it was AFTER the slap that Purab started fabricating this false Purgya story. As sarcasm. As drooling anger at this whole situation. Sarcasm that Abhi doesn't understand. EVER.

Why would Purab be sorry towards Abhi for keeping Purgya a secret and not telling him beforehand? It makes absolute no sense, since there is no Purgya to begin with it. Even if there was a Purgya, Abhi has no reason to be mad unless its because he's self-pitying himself for not knowing all this and feeling betrayed that his two friends could like each other.

IMO, it was all dripping with sarcasm from Purab after the slap that went above Abhi's head unprocesed.

Purab said he loves Pragya even before the slap.

Abhi clearly said he doesn't believe what he is seeing.

Purab was not shocked after the slap either, he coolly said I knew he did a mistake and doesn't deserve forgiveness but pls forgive me. I am sorry!

I think Purab was fed up with Taliya accusation.

Even If Abhi believed the pics Purab need not lie but here Abhi said he dint.

He told the story when Abhi asked what happened.

He was letting him speak, Purab could have twisted it into the reality that she was kidnapped and could have questioned how Alia got the molestation location pictures.

Because Abhi was on their side. He choose to lie.

Reason - He will tell Pragya in today episode.

Why did Abhi slap only Purab and not Aliya or Nikitha?

Abhi in the end actually believed what Aliya and Purab told him and NOT what Nikitha is telling him that though the pictures are not morphed she is NOT having any such relationship with Purab! Nikitha is a new entry in Abhi's life an outsider where as Aliya and Purab are close to him and have been with him since his childhood. So Nikitha was repeatedly saying 'why are you lying Purab when there is nothing between us, what is wrong with you, why are you trying to make a lie sound true'? And Abhi seems to have thought that Nikitha is still denying and lying where as Purab confirmed finally the so called affair between them that was unearthed by his noble sister publicly and so he went with the flow and asked him not to show his face again after slapping him! What an unconvincing, disjoint, poorly edited and lamely written scene is this? 😡

I don't think slap made Purab say anything differently. Abhi didn't slap him for saying he loves Pragya. He slapped him for hiding it from him. More than the slap, I'm curious why didn't Purab just stick to kidnapping.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad he got slapped. He had no right to speak for Pragya that "they" were in love and met each other, etc. He didn't have to add to her problems.

Prani, the slap was before he made up the story of them meeting and falling in love. The slap was when Purab said he loves her if whatever he described is love. He involved Pragya's part in the fake story only after the slap.

Agree the part as to why the horrible kidnapping was not brought up and left out as if it was nothing.

You know this na. We had a similar scene where Purab comes to know about Abhi accepting Tabhi in front of media and Purab confronts Abhi as to why he didn't tell it to him before. I agree best friends do get angry if they don't tell/hide such an important part of their life. But the slap was unnecessary and was an extreme reaction as if Purab did something wrong from Abhi's POV.

I guess u r right here the slap either would have angered purab or he might also be thinking k abhi is slapping hint just coz he is accepting his love for secretary & so make him jealous he might have accepted to make him realize his love or by repeatating history they r trying to bring his memory whatever it is but such a big blunder he has done by accepting it
