OK, thought I would share something with you guys. Talking about the regressiveness of this show, I am sure some of you may have had similar experiences.
My husband found out a few months ago that I have been watching this show while I was on the exercise machine. As he joined me in the exercise room, he tried to watch it with me and he realized that this is a daily soap, so he asked me for a quick run down so he understands what he is watching. He didn't know what he is getting into when he asked the question. So in 5 min, I had to give him the run down which went like this.

There is a famous RS and a studious professor, who gets rejected several times and finally they end of getting married because of their elders. The RS already has a YKW on the side who is constantly in their life, RS thoroughly disrespects the wife but finally both of them fall in love. Meantime several problems arise, including YKW pushing for marriage with RS, YKW claiming to be pregnant with RS child etc... The wife leaves the RS only to realize that the YKW claim is false and then returns claiming to be a money minded person and does the drama of not loving her husband, taunts her husband about YKW and supposedly his child etc... interspersed with magic of kumkum and MS, so on and so forth. But the RS and wife are so much in love with each other and their love makes it up for all the frustrations in the show...

My husband almost fell off the tread mill when he heard this story, not because of the story itself, but because I am watching something like this and defending the hero and heroine of the show and loving them to the core😳He thought that I went crazy for watching this and then telling him such a story in detail. He thought I was just pulling his leg. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't make him like Abhi, Pragya nor could I make him understand why I like them. He was quite suspicious that I was going through some sort of "phase" in my life that I am not sharing with him and covering up my angst by watching this show😆 and reveling in miseries of Pragya ( as if I am thinking that my problems are smaller when compared to hers sort of way ). I had to vehemently disagree to this conclusion of his. But couldn't answer this question from him " so you think it is OK to entertain a third person in a relationship and you are defending this hero saying that he loves his wife even though he has a pregnant GF in his house? And the wife can lie and scheme out of love without telling the poor guy the truth? I didn't know that you are so tolerant. How come then, you can't tolerate if I don't put my dirty dishes in the dishwasher or if I leave my pager on the counter'?"

I ended up getting mad at him and told him that this show is off limits for our discussion and to let me watch it in peace without any faaltu arguments. He ended up leaving the exercise room saying that he will exercise after I finish and will watch Trump's debate instead😃

When I was trying to tell him the story, I realized how illogical I sounded trying to defend Abhi, Pragya in this show. If somebody told me this story a year ago, I would have echoed my husband too, but now I realize that Abhi, Pragya magic is too much to resist. So guys, this is my story😃

Have a good weekend!!

I think some of the content is purely for dramatic value. Its still better than other shows out there hence the high TRPs.

KkB seems to be promoting regressive ideology even if they are doing it unknowingly. It is a prime time show and some things cannot go unnoticed by the viewers. Previous pregnancy track had some serious inhuman stuffs which a normal person would not like to see. A woman using her own baby to torture others and then killing it because of her own stupidity and then celebrating the next day!! Bulbul's suicide was too much, she wasn't the kind of girl who would jump off the cliff because someone instigated her.. because Mrunal wanted to quit the show they ended her character in such an awful way.
Some stuffs are common in every Indian daily soap. The heroine doing all the sacrifices, love triangles, ML, villains winning.. bot only KKB but many other shows are promoting regressive contents!!

Firstly, sorry Anu for hijacking your post. I didn't think that this discussion will take on a different route altogether
I thought most of you may have had similar experiences if you had to explain this show to a person not watching this show. It felt highly regressive when I tried to explain it to hubby and it was ludicrous on my part trying to defend the show or Abhi, Pragya's actions and motives. My point is, I didn't feel that this is a show that I would feel comfortable watching with family even though this is a prime time show.

Jabeen ( is this how you want to be addressed )Huts ( is this how you want to be addressed? ), no discussion at all in my house anymore about this show. But when I get too frustrated with the show, I rant in front of my husband once in a while. He doesn't sympathize with me anymore. He is at the point of thinking that I am losing my marbles if I rant and then continue to watch the show. My child is too young, she is at the phase of saying " Not again" when ever she hears the "Allah waariyan" in the back ground, so can't watch when she is awake.

Glad that some of you were able to laugh reading my predicament😃 I like it.
