Umm, so Pragya finds a letter in her mailbox five years later that has a copy of her wrinkled letter as well as a copy of the senders letter, in which he criticizes her way of thinking that she'll find her soulmate in such a manner. Angered by getting such a pessimistic reply years later, she send him a retortful letter back of how he should have better things to do than be responding to something he doesnt believe in, meaning he has problems in his life whch he cant share with others as well. And then eventually, from passive aggressive letters, they become more thoughtful, deep, emotional and with a lot of soul. He wants to finally meet her, claiming he's fallen in love with her, but she likes how things are and doesnt want to risk the possibility of getting hurt one more time.

With a lot of convincing and bribes, she finally agrees to meet him and it turns out to be none other than her ex-husband, Abhishek Mehra.

Optional backstory-he knew all along it was her, when he recognized her handwriting in that letter. But she had changed her phone number, thhey had lost touch and she wanted nothing to do with him and this was the only way in which he could reconnect with her and still be close to her even if they're miles apart.

She sends him a handwritten note requesting him to be more positive about life, as even the biggest of storms fade away. He responds by saying that not all stories are in the fate of a writer like her, who writes happy endings, so how can she be so sure of things working out in the end. She decides she cant tell him to what to do, so she ends up ignoring the next few letters from him. But being Pragya, with a big heart, she cares a little too much and starts feeling that she can do better for him. So she writes a book that is based off of his life and writes a realistic, but happy ending, indirectly hinting at ways that he can find happiness and peace in his life again. The book goes on to be a best-seller, but he stops writing letters to her, which concerns her. Is he angry at her for writing abt him? She sends him letters with her concerns and feelings for him, not realizing he has become a very integral part of her life.

Few months later, she finally does get a letter from him. And it says that he wants to end their relationship here, as his problems have been solved and he has found happiness again. While she is happy to know he's happy, she's also disheartened to know he doesnt want to write to her anymore. Furthermore, he never responded back to her queries and concerns.

As she's walking back home from her office on a rainy afternoon, someone behind her asks for her autograph. She turns around to find someone bending down on one knee with her book about him in his hands. While she's confused for the first few seconds, he quotes some of her feelings for him that she had written in her most recent letter to him. And she knows, he's the one.

Backstory: he didnt write to her because he was overwhelmed by her writing a book for him and he wanted to become happy and successful in life, not for himself this time, but for both of them. To make her proud.
