there were many teachers in my school from south..mostly from tamilnadu..they were quite good at Hindi..actually some of them even started speaking our local language Gujarati also...Originally posted by: anamika.viji
JD, like me most of us can understand Hindi but don't know how to read or write ...I think so😆
same as with my English I think... Because I know English quite well but when it comes to speaking in college..I'm always at loss of words because there is no trend of speaking English in this part of country... &even I can't understand many words used here which are not generally used so I started using dictionary from my phone daily... 😆 😆

If you ask about my English skills, I would ask which one?
Because my writing and speaking skills are different especially when it comes to English.
I remember this incident when a neighbour asked me why I was going to college as it was a local holiday in English? She doesn't know Tamil as her mother tongue was Telugu. I knew how to reply it in English but words didn't come out of my mouth. You know how embarassing it will be when someone asks you something and you are lost in your thoughts on how to reply. I started replying her in Tamil and she felt awkward to talk in English. She finally gave up and started talking in Tamil with so much difficulty. Its because I rarely get to speak in English.
My writing skills are little better when compared to speaking English.
