Part 7:

The principal asked her the reason for returning to India one day earlier. Pragya told him that it's because of her health and she couldn't adjust to the cold weather.

"Students learn from teacher. But it seems teacher learns from students here. You are giving excuses like students."

Pragya was embarrassed. "Never mind. I hope your presentation went well." said the principal focusing on his laptop screen. Pragya replied, "Yes sir".

"OK, we will talk other things at the staff meeting" said principal and Pragya left the room.

Two days later

Pragya returns from college and wonders why Abhi didn't call her and doesn't receive her calls. She reaches home only to find it Maa and Daadi in a depressed state. She wonder what happened to them as they didn't even talk to her. Janki Bua took her to kitchen and asked her why she met her father. Pragya was shocked and asked how does she know that. Janki Bua told her that her dad came here and made a big issue. Sarla Maa was standing at the kitchen door. She pulled her to Daadi and told her to ask Pragya why she met him. Pragya tells them what happened. Daadi told that her son said he want to come back to his family and pleaded them. When they ignored him he started shouting and crowd gathered before their house. When Abhi tried to stop him from taunting Sarla, he started accusing Abhi. Poor Abhi, he didn't tell us anything but he left with a sad face.

Pragya asked why was Abhi here. Daadi said "That is not important now. You talk to Abhi. He must be feeling bad". Pragya went to MM. Rachana saw her and told that Abhi went angrily upstairs dew hours ago. She didn't see him after that.

Abhi was boxing ruthlessly.

"I didn't come on my own. Destiny made me meet my daughter. I want to live with my family. I have got enough punishment. I already missed so much years."

"People make mistakes. I will even fall to your feet Maa. Please let me in"

"Sarla your ego is what that's stopping this family's happiness."

"How dare you talk about Maa?"

"Hey, you don't think I don't know anything. You have no rights to accuse me. You married my daughter and had a girlfriend even after marriage, made her pregnant and now you want to marry my daughter again. What makes you better than me? When they can't accept you, why can't they accept me?"

The voices were looping in Abhi's mind. He felt angry beyond limits. He didn't want to show it on anyone so he isolated himself. Finally Pragya found him.

"What are you doing here?", she asked. He said, "Please leave me alone".

"I won't leave you like this. Why are you so much affected by his words? He is not that worthy"

Pragya tried to pacify him. "You don't know what exactly he said. Do you?"

"He said I did the same mistake as him." Pragya didn't let him complete. She pressed his nose. "Don't you ever compare yourself with him. He did a mistake and left us to suffer the consequences. You didn't leave me ever. You were always there for me and my family. You cheated me to some extent but you never betrayed me"

He unpaused. "I am not going to obey you now. How would have you felt when I said I married you for revenge? Isn't that the same pain that Maa would have gone through when she found out about your dad? I didn't love you. I didn't like you. But when I came to know about the MMS, I was in hell. I couldn't digest it. I would have killed Suresh. I felt like you betrayed me. But you came to this house with the expectations that every bride has and then you saw me spending time with Tanu. What would have you been through?"

"Stop this. It was all due to a misunderstanding. You are a good person that's why I started loving you even when you didn't want to be nice with me."

"Stop this", he shouted. She was terrified for a second.

"I am afraid of this. I am afraid of you being so nice. I am afraid of you being so understanding. What if one day you can't bear anymore and burst out? Why do you always be the giver and make me the taker? I feel like I am taking advantage of you. I am tired of being the taker. Please let me speak and don't tell me you didn't feel bad when I did things to you. Talk to me about how you felt. Sometimes past needs to remembered so that we don't repeat the mistakes. I want to know how you felt all those days. I want to feel it. Don't be a good girl and make me the bad guy. Let's either be good girl and good boy or you change to being the bad girl."

He turned towards
the window. Pragya could feel the angst in his voice and body. Pragya
hugged him from the back and tears from her eyes wet his shirt. There
was silence for few moments and both of them were lost in thoughts.

"Shall I we go
outside? Get some fresh air?" Abhi asked in a soft tone. They
started walking in the lawn under the moonlight.

"So you won't
open up?"

Pragya felt
uncomfortable that he came back to the topic.

"You know how I
felt during our marriage? I was marrying a girl who was supposed to
be my best friend's girlfriend. She was the reason for my sister's
pain. I was marrying a girl whom I hated the most in the world. I
felt suffocated. My mind was only thinking these two questions -
when will this marriage end? and when will this girl go out of my
life?"

"But then you were
not that bad. You really didn't seem to be a gold digger. You cared
for my Daadi and me too. I could see good things in you."

Pragya
started speaking as they sat on a bench, "Even I was not interested
in the marriage. I didn't like your attitude. Bulbul was your
diehard fan and she used to praise you always. I used to wonder what
is there in him to be this crazy about. After the proposal, I decided
that the word us' is not going to work out for us. But my mom's
health and worries made me agree for the marriage. I convinced myself
that this is what god wants for me. When I came to know about your
reason behind the marriage, I was shocked. How could a man marry a
girl just because his best friend loves her instead of his sister?
How could he not bother to verify at least once? What if you came to
know Bulbul is the girl? Wouldn't you spoil her life? I was
worrying about the truth. I hated you. But you were not as cruel as I
thought, you thought my family as your family. You pretended to be
happy and loving in front of my mom just like how I pretended to be
in front of Daadi. I hated the fact that you could play with a girl's
life. But whenever I was in a problem, you were always there for me.
As time went, many incidents made me realize that there is precious
heart that values people here." She said as she pointed to his
heart while lying on his lap.

the hate-turned love story began. Ta Da" said Abhi.</p>
<p align="justify">"Its
11-15 now. I think we should stop it now and continue later" said
Abhi seeing his watch.</p>
<p align="justify">Pragya
panicked and stood up. "Oh No! Why didn't I see the time? It's
too late. What will I say to Maa?"</p>
<p align="justify">"Oh
No! What will Maa think of you? You are coming from your boyfriend's
house late night.", Abhi teased her. Pragya became silent and put
her face down. Abhi and Pragya boarded the car and started traveling
silently.</p>
<p align="justify">"I
will go in an auto. Stop the car" told Pragya.</p>
<p align="justify">"Why?"</p>
<p align="justify">"With
this speed, we will easily reach my home by tomorrow" reasoned Pragya.</p>
<p align="justify">"Hey
there is so much traffic. We should drive only like this. Safety
first"</p>
<p align="justify">"Traffic!?"</p>
<p align="justify">There
was only one one or two cars going on the road.</p>
<p align="justify">"Stop
joking and go fast!"</p>

Latest chapter after the confrontation when Abhi said from hate to love, TADA part, it cracked me up 😆...

Part 9:

Abhi's phone rang and it was Purab. Pragya attended the call after seeing it was from Purab.

"Hello"

"Di.." Purab looked at his phone's screen to check whether he dialed the correct number.

"Tell Purab"

"Di... I want to talk to Abhi. It's an important matter"

Pragya extended her hand with the phone to Abhi.

"Can't you see I am driving? You can talk na"

"Purab said he wants to talk to you" said Pragya in a monotone voice.

Abhi stopped the car and took the phone from Pragya.

"Tell Purab"

"Why are you with Di at this time?" asked Purab in an almost scolding tone.

"Hey, when did you guys started treating us like going to be wed couple? Like she is my ex-wife and would be wife. It's just a temporary gap in between"

Purab didn't let him continue his arguments.

"Did you forget the plan?"

"What plan?" said Abhi with a blank look on his face. After few seconds, he remembered something and came out of the car.

"Sorry Purab. I totally forgot it"

"Forgot. What happenned to you guys? Maa is telling that we need not do it now and you are saying that you forgot."

"There was a small problem. Ok leave it. Where are you now?"

"I am in Di's house."

"OK, I will bring her exactly at 12 O' Clock. You keep things ready"

As soon as he boarded the car, he started driving fast.

"Why are you driving so fast?" asked Pragya not knowing what is going on his mind.

"You only asked me to drive fast"

"But not this much. You are driving like as if you are on a race track"

Abhi pressed her nose. He signed her to be silent by putting finger on his mouth.

"You shouldn't talk until we reach home and you are free to talk after getting down from the car"

They reached her house.

She stepped out of the car only to see her house without any lights. Even the entrance light was not working. She thought that they may have slept. When she turned to talk to Abhi, she could see only his car. He was not seen anywhere. She knocked the door and it opened. She found everything suspicious. Purab's call, her house being dark and door opening on its own. She smelled that it must be their plan. She went inside the house and tried switching on the lights but it didn't work out.

"See I know its your plan. Are you people trying to scare me? Come out now. It's enough"

The door locked. Pragya was afraid but she didn't show it until she saw a candle moving towards her.

"Maa, Daadi, Bua, Abhi... Please stop this. I am really afraid. Stop it now"

She realized she was holding on to someone behind her and when she turned to see the face, there was no one.

"Suniye, please..." she was closing her eyes so tight that she couldn't realize that the lights were turned on.

"Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to dear Pragya"

She opened her eyes after hearing this. The room was decorated with various flowers and birthday messages. She hugged her maa.

"You are still a kid. Don't cry on your birthday. Cut the cake" said Maa with a big smile on her face.

She cut the cake and fed the first piece to Abhi.

She remembered that every year Bulbul was the first one to wish her. She had always missed Bulbul but missed her more at this moment. Just then she heard Bulbul's voice wishing her to be happy always. She was shocked to know it came from her room. It was Purab in the room. He had played a recording from his mobile.

"Di, You cut the cake without me.." said Purab pretending to be angry.
