What if Nikhil goes to Abhi and says Pragya is spreading false rumors about Tanu? That'd be a preemptive strike by them. Then TaKhil won't have to do anything. Abhi will be so mad and will not believe Pragya even she has the proof.

I get the feeling Nikhil may not blackmail, but will manipulate Abhi.

I dont think so.. Tanu might do that but not Nikhil.. It would raise a lot of suspicions for eveery1 if Nikhil does that..
