Hey Neha...long time...*hugs*
Great point you have made and Indian serials love following this formula...though some shos seem to be moving with the times...

I think this is catering to the masses and their mind set more then catering to just the educated ...Nah...not educated but open and broad minded people ..

There are many educated people who follow such mentality too...

Pragya was shown to be the one to be the first one to kiss Suresh ...have feelings for him

Fuggy too...though more shy..

As Mogambo she in her role playing is more open with her feeling and sexuality...

The creatives have gone about showing that having such feelings in love are not bad...

Lets see how they show her character once there is no pretense...but the creatives have not done a bad job keeping their audience mindset in mind...

As for Aliyah and BB...I think they are trying to show that forcing ones love or once obsession...is bad thus the resulting in hat they show in contrast to BB who has already kissed Purab and that kiss was witnessed by Aliyah too...

Its all about mindset...of the viewers ...audience...

Neha, I haven't watched RaBul much.. but I did see RaBul's first kiss wala scene.. wasn't Purab a bit shy in that.. I thought BB kissed him..I could be wrong.

And BB's dance with Abhi was sensuous too.

krishu... kitne dino bad *hugs* So good to have you here!!! I remember one of my earlier posts was about women in this show and you had replied 😳 actually preceeding that rabul kiss , there have been several instances when purab wanted a kiss but bb was always reluctant...and that kiss was showcased to provoke alu, i think of it as a plot device. i agree about them wanting to target particular audiences which is apparent in their writing

maybe he felt overwhelmed 😆 but i don't remember him being shy ..i do remember alu's hysterical reaction though...
in holi they had a elaborate sequence where purab wanted a kiss but bb wasn't ready but wahan alu was ready to bhang-rape him.

Lol.. I rememeber seeing a bit of that scene and thinking this is nice.. BB herself is sort of leading that kiss..
But then that kiss more for Aalu than RaBul..

hmm.. oh well that kiss was misleading then! May be BB is just sataoing him.. not really sharmaoing... let's assume that way.

Most people come under the "grey" category and yet they're conditioned to like the coy maidens and dislike the aggressive "feminist" types! Women are conditioned to not like themselves for who they are, I guess!
Being "feminine" or the pure and loose woman is so defined from a male perspective. That applies to Freud's research as well! 😊 Jung and James are coming back in the U.S. as there is a growing feeling Freud is overrated somehow!

most of time women are held to different standard than men, Even though the core audiences are women but as you said internal misogyny is so ingrained that they prefer to watch portrayal of females as defined from the male perspective.
