Pragya's new look: Was it necessary?

Most of Pragya's clothing was monotonous and boring previously, so it is indeed a refreshing change to see her in new stylish clothes.
But from the story and character perspective, was her change in look necessary?
It was a big deal early on in the soap that Pragya was boring and 'behenji' looking because of which men didn't want to marry her or felt attracted to her 'beauty'. While dressing up sexy does make a woman more attractive, I was glad that Abhi fell for Pragya for her not so attractive self.
And now, Pragya has undergone a complete change in character and outlook in order to show Tannu and Aaliyah their places. But the change in outlook, was it necessary? Are they trying to show a woman can only be assertive if she dresses up appealingly? Does a woman have to drink alcohol to show she is claiming her rights and setting wrong people right?
I feel it would have been more powerful to show Tannu and Aaliyah can't win over a 'behenji' looking Pragya.
What do you guys think?

I feel the same way tia...I love that she is wearing saris...but the change in her appearance I think was not necessary at all...don't know what exactly is the message here but it is not a good message at all...you have to become a 'bitch' to deal with 'bitches'..dress like them..act like them and be like them to defeat them...I don't agree with this 'change' at all...what is the rationale behind this is beyond my understanding...only the cv's know why they did this...but I think the old pragya was a lot better to deal with this situation...she was smart...but I suppose they had to 'change' her to make her smarter...really don't know...it is a bit disturbing...I do hope that they bring her back to her normal pragya self after this track is finished...if it is ever finishing...

Sooner or later we might see Pragya melting down when she is alone while ignoring her loved ones, we saw when she was trying to make herself bad it didn't work since she was like a seedhi saadi girl, so nobody would have believed her, I mean now when she becomes turn to modern avtar, people might start to think she is showing her true colors, doing makeover or acting completely opposite your personality does not change the person inside you, she might seem heartless from outside but from inside her heart is somewhat like it was before "behenji'

I guess they want to show a new pragya

Loved watching Pragya today. To be treated as an equal, she needed to meet them, the two witches, on their terms on their turf. She looked glamorous and it sure shook them up. I am sure it will make Abhi eat every single demeaning word he said about her looks. Let him eat his heart out too. Though I too liked the fact that he fell for her seedhi seedha looks.
I didn't see her drinking alcohol unless it was in the precap?

I am glad Abhi fell for Pragya while she was in her behenji look, at least she knows he loves her true self. I like that they have given her a change in clothes...classy saris and all but the hair and no chashma was not necessary. Guess she felt this is the way to make the two witches take her seriously.

It has nothing to really do with Abhi, nor is she against him here- she is supposed to be working in his favor. His reaction was relief that he saw her again than anything else. I don't think it mattered to him she was not dressed sexy but he used to tell her he demeans her because she was a gold digger not becsuse she was not fashionable.
Shocked were Taaliyah but the point is does she need to change her outlook to make them take her seriously. Taaliyah betrayed her not exactly because she was not fashionable but because she was gullible and foolishly kind.
Alcohol is based on segments where she was shown drinking.

I think they bring about change in appearance not because of story line but mostly because the actresses get bored of same look for a long period of time...so could be that Sriti told the producers to try to bring change in her character look and dressing etc or she would leave the show so maybe to pacify her they did this change. 😉
