Chapter Thirteen Both where lost in their thoughts.After some time. Abhi:What are you thinking Pragya? Pragya:I am just reading,nothing else. Abhi:Is that so,then it must be your new talent do teach me how you are doing this. Pragya:So you are saying that reading a book is also a talent and you want me teach you. Abhi:Yes,I have never learned how to read a book upside down book you know. That's when she realizes she had been holding the book upside down. Abhi:So now are you going to tell me now,what is wrong? Pragya:I don't know why I get this feeling that something wrong is going to happen. Abhi:Holds her hand.All our designs are perfect then why are you worrying unnecessarily.But there is one thing that I am worried about,what if our clients runs away after speaking to you? Pragya hit him with her book. Abhi:Hey what sort of girl are you,how can you hit your boss with a book. Pragya:Sorry sir I didn't mean to do it. Abhi:You are just like an angry kitten which is so cute but when someone irritates it,turns wild.Don't be angry kitty.

Pragya:Hey I apologized to you,then why are you teasing me?And don't call me that name I am not a animal you know.

Abhi:Hey kitty don't be mad. Pragya was about to hit him with the book again. Abhi:See what I told you was correct you are behaving just like a angry kitten.Sorry ya couldn't help myself you look cute when you are angry(smiles at her) Pragya smiles seeing his childishness.(In her mind)What is happening to me why am I behaving like this,he is my boss though he behaves like my friend sometimes that doesn't give me any right to hit him I have to control my anger. Abhi:Anyways Pragya why did you choose fashion designing,what inspired you first of all? Pragya:I realized my talent due my brother come best friend Shan.He loved Saina very much though she loved him she won't accept it,hence Bulbul and me made a plan.We changed Shan's dressing style as well as looks.I designed his dress and we acted like we love each other in front of her finally she confessed her love.Now they are settled in Mumbai.That is when I decided to become a designer.Sir who is your best friend?

Abhi:My childhood friend Rahul,he even threatened me that,if I didn't call him regularly he will come Canada to beat me up.He did his studies higher in Canada,and we had lot of fun time.Now he is doctor in Varanasi hospital. Rest of the journey continued with their pointless banter.They had dosed of with Pragya's head resting in Abhi's shoulder while his head rest on top of her. Driver:Sir,Mam we have reached the hotel. They moves away from each other realizing their position.He asks Pragya to go ahead and that he will join her in a minute.

Hotel Pragya:She saw a very tensed Neeha waiting for them.Hey Neeha what happened why are you so tensed?

Neeha:Sir is going to kill me today.One if the room we booked has been given to someone else and I couldn't find another hotel for us in such a short notice,I don't know what to do. Pragya:Relax Neeha everything will be alright. Abhi:What did you say,how could they give the room to someone else?I need to speak to the hotel manager right now.

Manager: Sir we are really sorry for the inconvenience we caused you but the lady is a relative of the hotel owner and I couldn't turn her out,since the booking was made under Mr and Mrs.Mehra's name I thought it would be ok for you guys to share a room hence I gave the other room to her. Abhi:The booking was made for Mr.Mehra and Miss.Arora Mister not Mrs.Mehra and we are here to attend a business meeting do you get that. Manager:I am really sorry sir,but some mistake must have happened during the booking.Sir how can I ask the lady to vacate the room now there is kid with her sir please try to understand. Pragya:Sir its ok,only matter of two days we can share the room. Abhi:But Pragya:Sir he is correct we can't ask them to vacate their room at this time.I don't have any problem in sharing a room if you are ok with it.

Seeing no other options left Abhi agrees.After bidding good bye to Neeha they go to their room. Room After pluging her phone,she goes to the washroom to freshen up.Mean while Abhi informs his dadi about their safe arrival.After sometime Pragya come out of the washroom. Abhi:Its your dad's call Pragya.He was about to pick it up when Pragya holds his hand. Pragya:Sir please don't tell papa that we are sharing the room please. Abhi:But why?

Pragya:I will tell you everything later,but please don't tell him. He nods and pick up the phone. Abhi:Hello uncle. Prasanth:Hello Abhi you guys reached safely,can I speak to Pragya her phone is swithed off. Abhi:We just reached the hotel uncle,wait a second I will give her the phone. Pragya:Hai papa we are fine reached just now,my phone battery is down.Papa where is mom? Sarla:Hello Pragya. Pragya:Mom I have to tell you something,me and sir are sharing the room because the manager gave one of the room we booked to someone else,and I have not told Papa about it.I don't want to leave this job like how I left hockey. Sarla:Its ok dear,you take care of yourself,bye. Pragya:Bye mom. Abhi:Why did you lie to your dad Pragya?we have done nothing wrong then why are you hiding the truth from him?

Pragya:I know we have done nothing wrong sir,I lied because papa has changed completely after what Purvi di did,di was always papa's favourite but when he realized di is in love with a guy he fixed her marriage with someone else.He won't listen to her,but on the day of the marriage di eloped with jiju,leaving a letter behind stating that she doesn't want to separate her child from his father but after that incidence Papa changed a lot everything I do irritates him a lot,he won't allow me to talk to any guys or go anywhere alone not even college picnic.Papa was there to see my college hockey match,my team won the match because I shot a goal in the last minute my friends carried me off from the field on their shoulders I thought Papa will be proud of me but I was wrong he got so mad at me that day it was the last day I played hockey.And I don't want my dreams to be crushed again sir,that is why I lied to him. Abhi:Its ok Pragya,I understand.Don't worry I won't tell your papa. Pragya:Thanks sir. Abhi picks up his suitecase to take out his night cloth when he notices a shoping bag. Abhi:What is this.He open the bag and sees a beautiful red net sari with black border,How did this get here?

Flashback Dadi:Abhi I want you to buy a red sari for Pragya. Abhi:But why dadi? Dadi:Next month is her birthday and want to gift her a sari. Abhi:Dadi tell Robin he will get one for you. Dadi:You are behaving as if I asked you to design a sari,instead of buying one.I told you because no one knows about dress better than you and I want to give her the best.Since you won't design a sari,atleast do this shopping for me. Abhi:Dadi you really want me to design a dress for Pragya. Dadi:Yes. Abhi:Ok dadi I will do it.

Dadi: Really Abhi(in her mind,idiot he still does not know me) Abhi:Anything for your happiness dadi.I will show you the sari once it is ready. Yesterday he received the completed sari,since he didn't see dadi he kept it on his bed. Flashback ends Abhi:I think Robin has mistakenly packed this. After sometime he comes out wearing a V necked T shirt and a shorts.Pragya was sitting cross legged in the bed watching national geography channel.Abhi flops in the bed and switches the TV to sports channel. Pragya:Hey I was watching national geography. Abhi:I don't like it,its boring like you.Just enjoy the match. Pragya:You are calling me a boring person. Abhi:Yes,I just told the truth kitty. Pragya hits him with the pillow. Abhi:Hey Pragya stop behaving like kitty. Pragya:How many time do I have to tell you stop calling me kitty(hitting him with the pillow in between each words)

In order to stop her from hitting him.He grabs the pillow from her hand as a result she falls on top of him.They where lost in each others eyes.After few minutes Pragya moves away from him.followed by an awkward silence. Pragya:Fine watch the boring cricket I am going to sleep(places a pillow in the middle of the bed)and don't even try to come to this side of bed otherwise I will kill you. Abhi:As if I want to come closer to you. Pragya closes her eyes and pretends to sleep. Pragya:(in her mind)What is happening to me,why did I beat him again.Why can't I think anything when he comes closer to me.I should stay away from him from now on. Abhi lost interest in the channel when she stoped fighting with him.He sneaks glances at her every now and then.

Abhi:(in his mind)She looks so cute,stop starring at her Abhi.You are her boss, don't behave like a fool.

After sometime they slept thinking about each other.In the morning Abhi,Pragya and Neeha worked continuously to set everything ready for the afternoon presentation.Mr.Raj Malhothra reached the hotel on time,After the presentation is over. Raj:I like your designs Mr.Mehra. Good work guys,I know it must have been difficult for you to arrange the designs at such a short notice,but you have done a excellent work.We can sign the deal now. Abhi:Thanks sir. Raj:All three of you should come to my house today,there is a small the party to celebrate my 25 wedding anniversary.

Abhi:Congratulation sir,yes we will come. Raj:Thank you,bye Mr.Mehra see you in the evening. Abhi:Bye.Ok then lets go,Neeha come early in the evening we all will go together. Neeha:Sorry sir I can't come,my sister is not at home so I have to look after the kids today. Abhi:Ok then,join us for lunch atleast. They all had a wonderful time.By about four clock they returned to their room.

Room Pragya:Hai mom.Our presentation went well.We are going to the party in the evening to attend the wedding anniversary celebration of our client. Sarla:Your presentation went well that's all I want to know.Enjoy the party dear. Pragya:Mom where is papa I couldn't reach his phone. Sarla:He went out because of some business matters.Will be back tomorrow. Pragaya:Ok mom,bye,take care. Sarla:Bye. Abhi has entered the washroom to get ready first. Pragya:Its been 30 minutes still he had not come out,is he getting ready for a party or shadi.Sir its getting late come out soon I have to change too. After sometimes he comes out. Abhi:You won't even let me dress in peace. Pragya:We are only going for a party not shadi,you have been in there for 30 minutes. Abhi:So what I am a designer people notices me where ever I go not like you.So I have to look perfect.

Pragya:(rolls her eyes)Its no use talking to you,I am going to get ready. Abhi has ordered a juice and is waiting for it,when Rahul calls. Abhi:Hey Rahul,how are you?have you been that busy that you have not call your friend?(holding the juice in his hand) Rahul:Sorry ya got busy but I am angry at you,how could you go to Delhi without even informing me,I went to your house today.

Abhi:Had a meeting with a client,will be back tomorrow night. Abhi turns around and bumps into Pragya,who has just come out of the washroom as a result spills the juice on her.

Abhi:I am sorry Pragya,I didn't see you. Rahul:Pragya,who is she?what is going on bro. Abhi:Hey Rahul I will call you after sometime ok,bye. Pragya:You ruined my dress,now what am I going to wear to the party. Abhi:Wait a minute I have a solution. Abhi gets the sari he designed for her from his bag and gives it to her. Pragya:Wow its so beautiful,by the way what are you doing with this sari? Abhi:You leave all that,get ready for the party we are already getting late. Pragya:Its because of you we are getting late. Abhi:Ok ok I made a mistake,now will you please get ready for the party. After 15 minutes she comes out of the washoom.It is first time he is seeing her wearing a sari.The red color along with black border highlights her creamy skin.She wore light makeup and lens instead of her specks.He stood spell bound by her beauty which more enhanced by her eyes today.He couldn't tear his eyes of her face.Her cheeks turns red due to his gaze upon her face. Pragya:Why are you staring at me like this,is there a problem? Abhi:(he quickly averts his face)No everything is perfectly fine infact you look beautiful. Pragya:Thanks(blushes even more)shall we go. Abhi:Yes come,(in his mind)Are you mad Abhi why are you starring at her like a fool what will she think of you.

Car Pragya:Please stop near a gift shop on the way. Abhi:Why are we stopping near the gift shop? Pragya:We have to give wedding anniversary gift right. Abhi:I forget about that. Gift Shop After looking at several gifts she finally selects a photo frame. Pragya:Pack this. Abhi:No pack this. Pragya:Sir that frame is not nice,the color is so dull. Abhi:No it is perfect,your frame is not good,see how old fashioned the designs are. Pragya:This is good,your is not good. Shop keeper looks back and forth between them.Sir which frame should I pack or should I pack both frames(adds immediately seeing that they were about to fight again) Abhi:Good idea bro pack both of them. Pragya:Its is not a good idea it is such a waste of money,but quiets down seeing his angry glare. After 10 minutes the reach Mr.Malhothra's house. Malhothra's House Raj:Welcome Mr.Mehra,Miss.Arora.Neeha didn't come. Abhi:No she had some urgent work at home hence couldn't come.Happy anniversary sir. Raj:Thanks Mr.Mehra.Come I will introduce you my wife. After the cake was cut by the couples,they feed each other.Few minutes later couple dance was announced.Abhi and Pragya stays back watching the rest of them dance.After few minutes Raj comes there along with his wife. Raj:What is this Mr.Mehra,both of you are standing here silently.This is not fare you both have to dance.

Abhi:No sir we are fine. Raj:Come on Mr.Mehra be a sport do dance for us. They move to the dance floor,while Ankon mai teri song plays in the background. He held one of her hand while his other hand rest on her waist.She hesitantly places her hand on his shoulder.They slowly moves according to the music,soon they were lost in each other eyes that they didn't even realize how close they where dancing.It is as if all they could see is each other and everyone else has faded away.They come back to their senses hearing everyone clapping at the end of the dance. Realising how close they are they move away from eachother.After saying good bye to Raj they return to their hotel room.

Room

After changing she was sitting in the bed when she receives Prasanth's call. Pragya:Hai papa how are you?I called you in the evening but your phone was unreachable. Prasanth:I had some work,how was your presentation?

Pragya:It went well papa.

Prasanth:Pragya where are right now and where is Abhi?

Pragya:I am in my room papa,he is in his room.Papa do you want to talk to him. Prasanth:No just asked,that's all,bye.

Pragya:Bye papa(in her mind)why did papa ask such a question?and it sounds as if he is angry at me.No Pragya you are just imagining things why would he be angry with you. She hears the washroom door opening,immediately pretends to sleep as she don't want to talk to him right now.Abhi was relieved to see that she is sleeping as he didn't know what to say to her.

Next Day

After breakfast they begin their journey.After sometime she gets a call. Pragya:Yes papa we have started from here will reach home tonight.

Prasanth:Ok dear,bye see you soon.

Pragya:Bye papa.

Abhi:If you don't mind can I ask you something Pragya.

Pragya:Go ahead sir.

Abhi:Don't you miss your sister I know she made a mistake but still don't you miss her? Pragya:Yes I miss her,I know she made a mistake but she is not solely responsible,papa too was responsible for it to some extend.She always used to support me in everything,but when I needed her the most she is not able to be with me because of papa.even after Aarav's bith he won't let anyone see or talk to her.I feel bad for mom he won't let her see her grandson. Abhi:Have you guys not tried to see her once?

Pragya:Yes I am in contact with her,I talk to her once a week but papa don't know about it.Once when papa went away for some business matter I took mom to see aarav and di.She was so happy that day,I really wish everything was back to normal then she could spent as much time as she want with them.Aarav is an adorable kid,if papa saw him once all his anger will evaporate. Abhi:I know how you feel,I can understand uncle's feeling too.It is very difficult to overcome the pain given by someone closer to your heart,but I don't understand one thing why is he against your happiness,what is your mistake in all this.

Pragya:You are mistaken sir,papa is not against my happiness,he is just concerned for me that's all. Abhi:But why won't he trust you?You are his daughter after all. Pragya:You too didn't trust mom,that is why you didn't talk to her.

Abhi:After a minute of silence.Our situation was different Pragya,when my bad time came there was no one with me except my dadi,rest of them either avoided me or talk to me out of pity.when Badi Ma didn't come to see me I assumed that she too won't talk to me,hence I stopped talking to her because I don't want to see pity for me in her eyes too.But uncle situation was different you guys where all there with him even though all of you where sad,then how come he won't trust you? Pragya lowered her head and remained silent.

Abhi:I am sorry Pragya I didn't mean to hurt your feelings,I am really sorry for interrupting in your personal matters.

Pragya:Its alright sir.I am used to his behavior by now.I understand that all my wishes will not come true,I have learned to be happy with what ever I get in my life. Abhi:I am really happy that I met a person like you Pragya,you care about everyone else happiness over yours.I am proud of you.

Pragya:I am not that selfless sir,sometimes I too become selfish.

Abhi just smiles at her.They laps into silence after that.The rest of the journey continued with light banter.After several hours they drift off to peaceful sleep.They where jerked out of their sleep,when the car came to a abrupt halt all of sudden.

Abhi:Ramu what happened.

Ramu:I don't know what is the problem with the car,I will check and tell you. Abhi too gets out of the car.

Ramu:Sir there is one 2 km away but you won't get anything at this time. Abhi:Ok is there a workshop near by.

Ramu:I have seen one km before but I am not sure we will get a mechanic at this time. Abhi:Do one thing Ramu try to get a mechanic from there ,we will wait hear for you. Ramu:Ok sir.

He gets in the car

Pragya:What happened?

Abhi:Front tires punctured(call someone)uncle we will be late our car tires is punctured,I have sent the Ramu to get a mechanic.

Prasanth:Where are you guys?

Abhi:We are 2 km away from the NH road this place is so deserted and I don't like it. Prasanth:Don't worry,I am near the place you mentioned I will be there in 15 minutes. Abhi:That is great uncle,bye.

Prasanth:Bye.

Abhi:Your dad will be here in 15 minutes.

Pragya nods.Abhi don't know why he is feeling uneasy with each passing minutes,his uneasiness increased.Pragya steps out of the car.

Abhi:Pragya where are you going?get back in the car.

Pragya:I am tired of sitting for so long,I am going for a walk.

The minute she stepped out of the car his uneasiness increases tenfolds. Abhi:Pragya if you want to exercise your legs you can do after you reach your home ok,there is no lights over there so don't go(goes behind her) Hearing the rustling sound coming from one of the near by bushes.Abhi immediately pulls Pragya back in time when the dragger zipped past her narrowly missing her throat.He pushes her behind his back on seeing a person wearing a mask is standing there with a dragger in his hand. Abhi:(wispers)Pragya get back in the car now(without taking his of the goon)

Pragya:I won't leave you alone Abhi.

Abhi:(losing his cool)I said get in the car now damit.

She runs from there to reach the car,just then the goon lungs after her.Abhi grabs his hand and twist it behind his back with such a force that he screams in pain and drops his dragger.Hekicks it out of the reach and kick him behind his legs making him fall to his knees.When he was about to tear his mask away,he hears her scream.He turns and sees one of the goons holding her by throat while the other held a dragger.When she is struggling to free herself he bangs the goon's face to the ground and runs to help her.He holds his hand when he is about to stab her.He pulls him away from her and twist his hand behind his back giving his hand one more twist to make him let go of his dragger.Seeing the headlight of a vehicle approaching them at the distance,the goon kicks his leg and tries to runaway form there.Abhi runs after him but he escapes in a waiting car.He turns to go back,but notices a cell phone lying there,he picks it up.

Abhi goes Pragya and gently touched her shoulder.Are you alright Abhi?she runs her hand frantically over his arms to check if he is hurt. He cups her face,relax I am perfectly fine nothing happened to me,hey don't cry gently wipes her tears.She hugs him tightly crying continuously seeing that she is shaking like a leaf he too hugs her back while gently rubs her back.It is alright Pragya nothing will happen to you,I am there for you relax,pats her head after few minutes she finally controls herself and pulls back from his arm.He wipes off the remnant of tears from her face.You are alright Pragya,he didn't hurt you right.I am fine Abhi.You won't cry anymore right.No I won't.That's like a good girl,gives a small peck on her forehead.

Hearing the sound of foot step, they turn around to face Prasanth standing few feet away from them.Papa,moves forward to meet him but receives a tight slap from him.She was about to fall when Abhi catches her.Uncle what,before he could finish his sentence he too receives a slap from him.Both of them him shocked and confused as to why did he slap them.
