Hey guys ! New story time ! Well not exactly a story, just an idea for now. Read on and tell me how it is ..
Part One
'I love you Pragya'
'I know and I love you too.. You are the BEST best friend anyone could ever have. Remember the first time we met? You were all heart broken and sad after that chudail dumped you, and sitting in the LAST place where anyone who knows you, would have imagined you to be in -the library ! But we should thank chudail actually. If she had not broken up with you, you would've NEVER been there and we would've never met. Look at us, happily chatting about how we met, five years later. Man time flies ! Oh no..We are growing old!'
'Praggs.. Listen.. I don't mean the best friend wala love.. I mean the LOVE love .. I love you !'
'Haha this is either a really good joke or you are rehearsing for proposing to someone else..'
'Pragya I am serious. I am in love with you !'
'What nonsense ? Do you know what you are saying ? You very well know I don't believe in all this. My mom loved my dad and what did he do in return ? He left her when she needed him the most and when I was a kid. I have seen what my mom has been going through ever since and I really don't want to fall in love .It leaves nothing but pain and heartbreak behind.I thought you understood me !'
'Sorry Pragya, but please trust me! I will never hurt you'
'Enough! Just stop it! I still am not able to believe that WE are having this conversation . What did I ever do to give you the impression that I love you? You broke my trust today.. I never thought I will be telling YOU this. You, who have been with me through all my happy and sad moments, You, who I thought, knew me inside out, You, whom I considered more a family member than a friend and the very same You, are here, proposing to me despite knowing how I will feel about it..'
'Pragya please listen ! Please just let me explain. I really don't know when and how it happened. I know you don't believe in it and please trust me I tried really hard to keep my feelings at bay. But I have fallen hard for you and I just couldn't not tell you. Please I am sorry! Do you really think I l be able to see you hurt?'
'Well you just hurt me yourself.'
'Pragya please ... 'And before he could continue any further Pragya gets up and starts walking, slowly increasing her pace and with tears in her eyes with his ' I love you Pragya' ringing in her ears..
She has no idea about where she is going so keeps walking till her legs support her and then sits down when she finds a chair nearby.
After a while she sees a hand extended towards her face with a tissue in it.
She slowly looks up and only then does she realize her surroundings. She is in some cafe with hardly any people around and a guy is standing in front of her,offering her a tissue.
She thinks..'How did I even come here? And a tissue? Oh I have been crying'
She looks up at the guy who looks at her with a small smile on his face. She takes the tissue from his hand and murmurs a thank you
'It's okay Ms.Pretty face. Wipe those tears, they don't suit you'
She looks up at him startled. This random guy called her pretty face and is talking as if he knows her for long. Before she could think any further that guy waved his hand in front of her which brought her out of her thought process
'Here. Have this , you will feel better.'
There was a steaming hot cup of cappuccino on the table in front of her. When did this come here ?
'Umm no thanks. I am fine'
'Oh come on Miss. Even a kid will know how fine you are. Just drink it you will feel better. Don't think I am boasting but this is the best cappuccino you will get in this whole city.'
Pragya looks around and he replies as if he read her mind
'Okay okay.. I know we don't have many customers yet but it's only because we opened this place up, just two days ago. Once word gets out that I own this place,you just wait and watch how people will stand in queues waiting to get in !'
His energy was contagious. Pragya found herself 'nearly' smiling at his confidence
'Aha! See ! Just five mins with me and you are already smiling. This looks way better Ms.Pretty face.'
'Pragya. Pragya is my name, not Ms.Pretty face !'
'Okay okay..nice name ! Hi Pragya . I am Abhi, Abhishek Mehra and I own this cafe.'
'Good luck with the new venture'
'Thanks and lot ! Btw,Not that I want to interfere in personal matters but you will feel better if you share it with someone.. What's wrong ? I was sitting across the counter when I saw you enter and it was quite clear that you had no idea of where you were going..it does not feel nice to see a pretty girl like you in tears na, so I waited for a while before I decided to make you feel better with my super awesome coffee..'
'And what makes you think that I will tell a stranger,my life's problems ? I agree your coffee is very good and I needed it badly so thanks for that but sorry to say, our conversation ends here.'
'Well it's always better to vent out your feelings to a stranger because he will not judge you as you guys hardly know each other and you will also feel lighter..'
Pragya thinks for a minute and sees a point in what he says
'Guess you are right'
'You really think there might be a possibility of my being wrong?'
Pragya rolls her eyes at this lively stranger and starts thinking for sometime and then speaks
'Why did he do this to me ? I thought he understood me.. '
'Who did what ?'
'Ranveer, my best friend .. He proposed to me'
'You are sad because your best friend proposed to you ?'
'Sounds strange ? That's how strange my life is, at the moment..How I wish he hadn't done that.Things were so good before...'
Pragya almost whispers the last line and Abhi knows that she is lost in her thoughts..
He thinks..'Why is she sad because her best friend proposed to her ? Isn't that something to be happy about? I would be jumping around the place if I had had a girl best friend,who had proposed to me, cos she will already know everything about me and Life will be great with someone who understands you.. Well,Opinions differ... It's sad to see her sad though. Her face is such a contrast to her bright yellow flowery dress which would've otherwise madeher look like a happy sunflower.. Wonder what's in store for her..', looking at the 'Koffee with the Mehras' board outside his cafe shining brightly in the sun.
And that's all for now. I will decide to make a story out of this idea or just drop it, based on your comments. So let me know what you think about it 😊
PS:I used the 'Chudail' reference as I wanted to be careful to not take a name and Chudail need not necessarily mean Tanu right ?😆
