PART 4:

"OMG. Daadi, look at this!" Purvi moaned as she shoved the newspaper article in daadi's face. Daadi scrunched her eyes as she took hold of the newspaper and brought it closer to her eyes. Daadi's eyes grew slightly as she read the article describing Abhi and Tanu's live-in relationship and other related sensational gossip. "Purvi look at this, apparently his daadi is not happy" she stated curiously. Purvi sat on the settee next to daadi as she made herself comfortable and served her the cup of tea sitting on the table. They began to chat about random things: love, life, fun, tv and movies. Purvi loved hanging around with dadi, sometimes she felt dadi was the one who totally understood her and her craziness. I mean there was Bulbul, but Bulbul was more the romantic type and she had been so busy with work that Purvi had started feeling a bit lonely. Pragya di as well, she had work and then she was always engaged in some situation or the other. Dadi was the only one who understood her. She was an old lady but her heart was young likewise dadi loved hanging around with Purvi because it brought out her inner child. "Dadi, I cannot believe we are holding the function at Mehra mansion. I mean, us in Mehra mansion! Do you think we'll be able to see Abhi? Oh my god daadi we can see the girl friend!?" Purvi squealed.

"Dadi, Purvi" Pragya spoke as she came in. "No maa, let go of this." She took the bag of decorations out of Sarla's hand and placed it in Purvi's. "Oh god, how will we manage. Such big people, a big event" Sarla turned towards rockstar dadi and sat on the settee where Purvi had sat. Pragya gave a head movement towards Purvi who nodded before placing the decorations in the other room. She returned and stood by Pragya. "Oh ho Sarla, we'll manage" "But such a big contract? And that too for the Mehra household?" Sarla stated anxiously. "Maa don't worry. Like Salman Khan's movie, that one, Hum saath saath hai', we're all together and everything will get done" Purvi beamed and Pragya smiled. "Yes maa, Purvi is completely right and Bulbul's taken a two-day leave from the office to help." Sarla relaxed slightly and closed her eyes.

"Purab, do you think this is a good idea. I mean there's just one week left!"

"Of course Suresh yaar, you know how Aaliyah and daadi are, they'll love it." Just the thought of Aaliyah's face scrunching up with a cute smile was enough to make Suresh's eyes twinkle, he nodded gleefully like a child and silently blushed. Purab looked at him and shook his head.

"Wow, you two really are the nerds." Purab smiled as Suresh flickered his eyes and mock glared at Purab who peered out of his cabin windows and watched Bulbul work. She had been trying to avoid him for the past week and he was getting restless. Had he done something to make her feel uncomfortable? Suresh watched Purab stare intently at the cabin windows and glanced behind him t watch the young girl typing on her computer?

"What are you staring at?" Suresh asked.

"What? Of course not? Nothing like that, it's Bulbul?" Purab rambled. Suresh raised his eyebrows while Purab glanced away nervously.

"Office romance then?" Suresh smiled. "I'll talk to you about this later, Aaliyah's called me twice now, If I don't leave now, she'll be mad and you know how she is." Suresh grinned. He hugged Purab and was leaving. "By the way Purab, she's staring at you too"

He watched the window and saw her immediately stare at the screen.

"Oh wow, what has never been seen in this house has happened. What an inauspicious event. Look at the generation of today. Oh my!" Rano roared in the living room, swishing her braided plait over her shoulder and pacing up and down the living room with Mithali obediently following her every step. Aaliyah looked at them before returning to Supriya.

"Daadi, daadi please."

"Aaliyah, what daadi please?" Supriya argued, fighting back tears.

"All i've ever wanted is a beautiful, simple daughter-in-law and I get this model who knows nothing about running a household and having a family" Surpirya screeched as she cried and moaned.

"Daadi, you have to understand. Look" Aaliyah crawled between Daadi's legs and placed her hands above daadi's.

"A live-in relationship is better than marriage right? At least we can see how Tanu really is and bhai can see it for himself too." Aaliyah argued. "Maybe bhai will decide that he doesn't want to marry Tanu?" Aaliyah watched Daadi's eye's sparkle at the thought and quickly added "But daadi, this means we've got to give Tanu a chance. Maybe, just maybe it'll work out?"

"Aaliyah, she doesn't know anything, what will work out? I need a dutiful daughter-in-law who knows how to handle the household. Who will teach her the values of this house? Traditions? How to cook? There is too much"

According to daadi's wishes, if Tanu wants to be part of this household, she needs to change.

Hii everyone! Sorry about the short update.
