Oh Krishu, I agree all the way! All of it!
I want him to fall this way too and maybe once he falls for Pragya, then he can realize that Tanu is evil. Right now, I want him to take a fair decision without taking into account that Pragya saved his life. Sure she did, but it doesn't mean that he should just wait it out and play with both Tanu and Pragya.

&& hopefully he does come up with some new pyaara sa romantic "secretive" nickname for her. Secretive because the rest of the family doesn't need to know, right? ;)

Nicknames are for your own(people you've accepted as part of your life) and Proper names for people you meet or don't know very well or there is some serious discussion. Abhi calling Pragya by her name is for his benefit...he wants to create the illusion of distance.

In the almost year of the program there have been only three types of scenarios where he calls her Pragya(if there is more I forget...so in my mind not important😕):

1) when he's talking to other people about her(mostly strangers or elders)

2) When he had a serious conversation with her(Purab running away, MMS etc)

3) when she's in danger or he's worried about her(Drunk accident, Kidnapping)

For me, him calling her Chashmish or even Fuggy is endearment. Chashmish might have started off as spite but it became a name just for her... and so is Fuggy...he loves that name for her. But it is a very personal name and you cant use that if you want to move further from the person.

Speaking from personal experience now, I only ever hear family calling me by my proper name if I did something wrong or we're discussing something very serious(and I'm not) or they're annoyed with me about something(which is 50% not always my fault)

Like some of you said, nicknames mean more closeness- especially when the nickname is exclusively used by one person.

Taaliyah also called her Chashmish, but the way Abhi used to say was still special. But Fuggy was just Abhi to Pragya.

100 people call her Pragya, but no one calls her Fuggy. And Fuggy came from Abhi's research of Pragya's childhood pics, a well thought- crazy name.

He always has called her Pragya when he is mad at her, uncomfortable etc.
Right now also, he is uncomfortable. Calling her Fuggy will make it endearing between them, make him vulnerable to her.. so he is avoiding that. He is running away not only from her but even from his own heart which actually feels for her. He is afraid to give in somewhere, because of Tannu and his own definition of relationships.

Nevertheless, I hope he calls her Fuggy again, I don't think calling her Pragya is a growth in their relationship, but actually a step backwards.

exactly.. Naming her fuggy was done with love and bonding..
I prefer him calling her fuggy even when they are intimate..
